Best thing Sky have ever done here....

What a video - you watch one and think "yeah that was the best one"... only to watch a few seconds later and think it was actually that one.

What would everyones top 3 be? I'd go

1. Macheda (title on the line + being in the stadium for it puts it over the others)
2. O'Shea (title on the line + against the scousers with 10 men)
3. Bruce (again for the title, but I was only 7 so I have memories of it but its not as strong as others)

The special mention would be Rio vs. Liverpool.

Nothing as far as the PL goes will beat Steve Bruce against Sheffield Wednesday for me with Sir Alex and Brian Kidd going crazy on the sidelines, if Bruce doesn’t score it’s likely Villa win the league but Bruce did and it kickstarted our unrivalled era of dominance.

Who’s Macheda and why doesn’t he play for us now?

Actually went to check where he is now, looks like some random Turkish club - although was in Cyprus earlier in the year
Really? Last I head he was at a very low division Italian side. Tbh he completed football with that goal.

They are all deadly, genuinely forgot a couple like that Vidic one and the Matic volley.

Love that Forlan goal and celebration.

Players should be allowed take their shirts off to celebrate goals like that without getting booked. That's such a stupid rule.

Had a relatively successful spell at Panathanaikos, otherwise a Euro journeyman passing through 8 different countries !

There's something extra magical and memorable about late winners when there's a PL or CL trophy on the line.

Christ I miss the United of the Ferguson era

Nothing beats the O'Shea one for sheer hilarity. Made even better by my scouse supporting mate saying "don't worry O'Shea will probably score a last minute winner" when Scholes got sent off.

Off topic, but the one v Liverpool in the FA Cup during the Treble season is a personal favourite.

I was thinking of that. Andy Gray still rambling on about the last gasp equaliser on the commentary when he was interrupted by Ole banging in the winner!

Tbh that whole season is still the most ridiculous of any team I can remember. About 50 years worth of last second or against the odd moments crammed into 8 months.

Absolute class haha still remember the ending word for word  we got beat of Sheffield Wed and went 33 games unbeaten in all comps. The very definition of never say die.

I saw him (you?) and his (your?) dad in Lou Macari's Chippy not long after that goal, and he ordered a portion of chips with loads of mayo on the side. I think that goes some of the way to explain his career afterwards!

I watched that earlier today. Nev's reaction near the end was class. Passion merchant

I still remember the Owen and Macheda ones pretty vividly and completly losing my marbles in the pub along with almost everyone else in there. Just insane moments.

The end of the 4-3 against City was hilarious, Hughes raging at the fourth official for the Fergie-time, then Fergie comes over and very obviously has a joke with the official and Hughes is looking absolutely murderous at them

Vidic's celebration on that Sunderland one is absolutely iconic. I have no memory of the Matic one :nervous:

There's some missing as well. Off the top of my head there was a Scholes header vs Sunderland the same year as the Forlan goal. Fernandes winning goal vs Brighton literally after the final whistle. Garnacho vs Fulham last year. RVP completing a hatrick to win the game against Southampton.

All the shite were being served up now is basically payback for years of us doing this to everyone else almost needlessly often. There's two against City in there and the same season Rooney got an injury time winner to knock them our of the league cup semi.

But isn’t taking your shirt off to celebrate pretty stupid?
Also - why is it only the scorer who takes off his shirt - shouldn’t his teammates join in?
Maybe the scorer of the OG should be forced to take his shirt off.
I suppose it’s all just a chance to show off their lovely tatts!

No, I don't think so. They should all be allowed to take their shirts off if they want. Was a great time when players could whip their shirts off and run to the corner and celebrate with the fans. Now both will get you a yellow card. From memory it all stemmed from the women's world cup, where the US celebrated by taking their shirts off. Some sad religious Karens got upset and moaned, then they were banned from doing so. A few years later after some more moaning. FIFA followed suit. I might be wrong on that

Stupid rules that have only added to the continued sanitisation of the game.

Goosebumps watching those.

I love Macheda's goal, it was probably the best of the lot from a technical point of view, but also I know it absolutely sickened all my Liverpool supporting mates, one of them told me he felt physically sick watching it!

I'm old enough to remember Bruce's goals v Wednesday. Irish telly used to show the Saturday matches with a 30 minute delay, and it was easy to avoid the scores back then, so I was able to watch it as if it was a live match. I was jumping around like Kiddo at the end!

That’s right I remember that game aswell.

To be honest I can’t remember if I checkEd Aertel for updates or just watched it “as live” on RTE. Regardless it’s the best “dramatic. winner” by a country Mile because really without it, what followed for SAF might not of happened.

Love that Vidic one v Sunderland. That season you’d be calm in the 90th minute knowing we’re going to score. I was there for that one and it was brilliant. Nowadays you’d be waiting on a VAR decision.

Was there for the Owen one too which was amazing.

I think the actual best ones are Bruce and Macheda.

Macheda, an unknown 17 year old coming on to score an incredible goal in a comeback win, with almost the last kick of the game in a really crucial title race match, where Liverpool were the rivals. Thats hard to beat.

Bruce is probably the best but dimmed by time. 97th minute on the way to the title.

And the Owen one was ridiculous after conceding equaliser so late.

Scholes at home to Sunderland on new years day 2003 was a massive one not in this vid. Scholes at City has to be the favourite one here though, followed by O'Shea at Anfield.

Few random mentions:

- Park v Wolves in 2010. Amazing last minute solo goal.
- Van Persie v Southampton 2012 last minute winner. Brilliant hattrick in his 2nd full appearance.
- Yorke v Charlton 98/99. Huge goal coming off the back of a stoppage time winner v Liverpool.
- Berbatov v Bolton 08/09. Another last minute winner that season that had RAWK crashing as we finally overtook them. Love that season.
- Scholes v Sunderland NYD 02/03. Absolute scenes at OT after that.

There’s just summat so magical about our last minute winners, just look at the fans when they go in. Compare that to say City’s in recent years. The Kompany one against Leicester for example, sure a great goal but does anyone give a shit really? Same when they beat villa on the final day to pip pool to the title coming from 2 down…. Just meh.

The only ”magical” one of theirs was that Aguero one which is fair enough. But that’s only cos it was their first league title in decades and happened to be to beat us to the title

The penalty that was given by VAR after the full time whistle tops them all for comedy value.

Some belters in there..

I remember sitting in the bar and my Liverpool mate was filming me on his phone asking me what it was like "to get played off the park in your own ground", when Rio popped up for that last minute header whilst he was talking.. We all just went mental screaming, took the phone off him and continued on filming him sitting with a big raging head on him

Bruce's two goals in the Sheffield Wednesday games were our most important goals in the Premier League era.

We don't win the league in 93 without the confidence gained from that win.

I was there that day. Still have the framed ticket. It felt special even then.

You think how many low keys ones there were that had a massive impact on our season. To name a few

Cantona v QPR 1996
Yorke v Charlton 1999
Forlan v Chelsea 2003
Tevez v Blackburn 2008

This has to be the one for me.

When we silenced the “noisy neighbours”, seeing that wet wipe Hughes fuming was also hugely satisfying.

Good times :(

Definitely the one for me - especially because I was sat/stood in K Stand literally a few rows away from the City fans so could see the actual despair on their ugly faces !

Bruce late double a close second and the more significant one for what it ultimately meant with the first title
