I'm just amazed at this fact. In the 2011-2012 season, we scored 89 goals. We've scored so far half of that with 2 games to go.

As far as I know, our lowest ever goal tally was 58 goals in the 2004-2005 season. We'll come nowhere near that.

We scored 62 last season. 64 in the Moyes season.

You have to look at the table twice to realize this damning stat. 44 Premier League goals in 36 games. 1 more than Sunderland who are fighting to stay up. The same amount of goals as newly promoted Bournemouth.

IF LVG is here next season, how can the board deem this acceptable?

Edit: If a similar thread exists, mods can delete of course.

You can then only admire the organization of this team. And de gea..

Why do the board care how many goals we scored though? cash flow, then results in that order.

Its a damning statistic. But I have a funny feeling our owners are only interested in one statistic, their bank balance.

We'll just score 19 in the last 2, no worries.

Seriously though, that is absolutely abysmal. Norwich have scored just 9 goals less than us, and look how abject in attack they were today. It's a complete joke.

Which of the two bold statements is correct?

If we manage to get 4th and Van Gaal stays I'm not sure what I'll do.... another year will be awful

That's a shocking stat

And I don't think it'll be as simple as adding a 20 goal a season striker to the team either. The whole team just looks clueless in attack.

On track to have our lowest scoring league season since 1989-90 (46 goals, 13th place), or 1988-89 (45 goals, 11th place)

Man city have scored the most in the league and are one point ahead

How many games did we score in? I remeber a 3 each draw against Newcastle, i think we scored 2 goals at some.games as well.

I bet we failed to.score in at least 10 games.
PL: Newcastle H 0-0, Arsenal A 0-3, City H 0-0, Palace A 0-0, West Ham H 0-0, Stoke A 0-2, Chelsea H 0-0, Southampton H 0-1, WBA A 0-1, Spurs A 0-3
CL: PSV H 0-0
EL: Liverpool A 0-2
LC: Middlesbrough H 0-0 (out on pens)

13 games.

10 exactly:
Newcastle United (H) - 0:0
Arsenal (A) - 3:0
Manchester City (H) - 0:0
Crystal Palace (A) - 0:0
West Ham United (H) - 0:0
Stoke City (A) - 2:0
Chelsea (H) - 0:0
Southampton (H) - 0:1
West Brom (A) - 1:0
Tottenham Hotspur (A) - 3:0

I've been backing LvG fully for most of this season, but our goalscoring has been shocking... truly god awful.

I said before the season that I had no idea where our goals would come from when we let go of Chich, RVP and Falcao (even if they were a bit shit last year) without properly replacing any of them. It wasn't hard to see this coming, although it's been far worse than I dared imagine.

Our strike force consists of an 18 year old rookie, a 20 year old winger and a fat, overpaid potato. Add in the fact that the service for this sorry bunch of forwards is coming from the slowest creature ever to walk the earth, a youngster who can't shoot, dribble or pass and a player with less confidence than a 14 year old pimple-faced girl. Oh, and our manager insist on playing with absolutely zero penetration whatsoever.

It's a wonder we've even cracked double figures this season when you think about it.

I may be exaggerating slightly, even if most of it is true.

Counting league games only, 10 would be accurate.

0-0 v Newcastle (H)
0-3 v Arsenal (A)
0-0 v Man City (H)
0-0 v Crystal Palace (A)
0-0 v West Ham (H)
0-2 v Stoke City (A)
0-0 v Chelsea (H)
0-1 v Southampton (H)
0-1 v West Brom (A)
0-3 v Tottenham (A)

Underlined Chelsea as that was the last game in 2015.

Edit: Damn you, Damien and your quick fingers.

...and of course Rooney shall always play because he is our captain!

Seriously though, that is an absolute disgrace! A pissed up Leicester City still managed to demolish Everton and score 3 at home and we only just struggled past fecking second bottom Norwich??

We've only managed to score 2 or more goals in a league game only 11 times this season!

We were seriously going into the season with a strikeforce of Rooney, Fellaini and Wilson. I doubt anyone would have imagined the impact Martial had, imagine if he didn't work out? Christ we'd probably be around 10th.

And they said "where will the goals come from?"

Now who's laughing, huh?

A bit of off topic. But, I wonder how many simeone's team have scored in CL this season.

Including all games, this must be a record for home 0-0 draws. We must have had about 7 or 8!

Under previous managers, one would be enough!

It depends on how long term their plans are. If they only want a cash cow for a few years then fair enough. If they want sustainable success over an extended period then we need to generate new fans on a world wide stage to keep the money rolling in. That requires entertainment.

Table sorted by teams who have failed to score in matches:
O9MNkff.png
We've failed to score in 10 matches, in comparison from the other teams in the top 8:
  • Southampton have also failed to score in 10 games
  • Arsenal, City and Liverpool have failed to score in 8 games
  • Spurs have failed to score in 6 games
  • West Ham have failed to score in 5 games
  • Leicester City have failed to score in just 3 games
Table sorted by most cleansheets:
ST7MGaq.png
We are top with 18 clean sheets, in comparison from the other teams in the top 8:
  • Arsenal have 17
  • City have 16
  • Leicester City have 15
  • Spurs have 13
  • Southampton have 12
  • West Ham have 11
  • Liverpool have 10

Our home record is good enough even if we play like shit.

The away record however...

@Damien....@Raw

Thanks guys....shocking, innit?

16, 11 in the groups.
Is it lowest or about there of all the teams that got to Semi finals of CL this season?

Oh ffs, Ronaldo is equal or one more than their whole GS?! lol
