Season not even started and we could have the 1st exit

Last season saw a record 14 managerial changes

Who's most at risk this season?

Yeah I've already accepted the fact that we're going to face Wolves with a new manager bounce.

There's potentially a lot of managers that will be under pressure this season, even some of the big teams, Klopp can't have a season like last, Pochettino has a bad start he'll feel the pressure, Arteta needs to win a trophy... etc.

My money is on Lopetegui of Wolves

Getting rid of a manager 4 days before a season starts seem an odd decision and I'm a Chelsea fan.
There's been disagreements between the manager and the board. Wolves can't really make any big signings due to FFP and they've sold Jiminez and Neves.

He's a very decent manager though. I'd rather face O'Neil, who's fine but at least 1-2 levels lower right now, even with the NMB...

Caf favorite Moyes is either exiting very early or getting an extension by the end of the year.

West Ham is having a shambolic summer, lost their best, might lose their second best, lost their striker. Plenty of players not signing new deals. Moyes one year left and down two assistant coaches that have not been replaced. A new technical director with ideas very much not in line with the manager and possibly a change of ownership.

Seems they maybe wanted Moyes out but didn't have the courage after the Euro Cup win yet basically wasted 2/3 of the summer window not really backing his recruitment... But now are forced to buy something to replenish a very shriveled squad. Only hope of not flirting with relegation again might be Moyes building a solid Joga Ugly team.

I also think someone from a major club will make a big play for Emery at Villa and they don't have the resources or glamour to hold onto him. Any of the big clubs across Europe have a shaky start and I think he will be gone.

Not too sure. Think Emery might be wary after what happend to him at Arsenal. Be surprised if Villa got rid of him unless that had a horrendous start. I think if they do reasonably well and have a run or two in the cups Villa fans will be quite happy

I think Emery get at least a full season more. Already did PSG so that's one club he won't be back to. Chelsea or Spurs maybe ?

It'll be the Luton manager. They haven't brought remotely enough quality to be competitive. I think they'll be crush and that pressure will eventually end up on them sacking the manager around November.

Chelsea being responsible for ~20-25% of those. Who will take that crown this season then? Another interesting side plot to follow. Wolves well ahead of the pack for now.

I think Sheffield United are in an even worse position.

With those two clubs is there is very little expectation for them to stay up, as their transfer activity suggests. They also won't sack their manager and bring in a fancy new manager, so it begs the question of why sack a manager you are happy with to only to get another lower level manager who will probably still get them relegated?

I'm going to go for Eddie Howe, did a great job with them and I think expectations are now going to be too high. They've got a rough start with Villa, City, Pool, Brighton as their first 4 games, pressure will be on.

Another great result for the Barcodes 1-3 against Brighton, mind you they have had some difficult fixtures but losing at home against ten man Liverpool having been 1 up, and todays performance doesn’t bode well, I’m not sure how Howe got this big job. Gone by Christmas? I would say yes.

Feel this was accurate, although it does feel Poch is under more pressure somehow still. Dyche probably the other I would say seems at risk right now.

Heckingbottom about to go?

Always feel sorry for promoted managers, and the size of the gap there is between Championship and the Premier League.

They can do a fantastic job to win promotion, often unexpectedly and overachieving along the way only to get the boot in the Premier League when they find it difficult to compete due to finances

There does come a time though when a board of directors might look at a situation and admit they're going down should they retain their manager. The question is are they willing to accept that and give the manager a chance to come back up, or take a gamble and pray that a change will bring a miracle?

Sheffield United must be reaching that point now. That was such an ugly defeat against one of their fellow promoted sides.

The SU squad is absolutely terrible and nowhere near being remotely good enough for the PL.

I agree. Doesn't stop chairmen though, we've seen it plenty of times. It can be a poisoned chalice to come up.

5-0 against Burnley is damaging to him. It was one of the few fixtures they might've been hopeful of an away point.

Aye, he'll likely get the chop, but that squad is really, really bad.

Steve Cooper under big pressure now. You wonder if they lose to Fulham midweek.

If that happens Palace will probably ask Roy to step down and appoint him quickly.

So now 6 of the current bottom 8 have sacked their managers this season. Is that a record turnover at this stage of the season?
