It's Manchester United, United or Man United.
Any chance of putting a sticky on the newbies explaining that our club is called Manchester United or United or Man United but not Man Utd? I know this is grumpy old man territory but I'm a grumpy old man, so feck orff.
These people need guidance.
Sack Busby, sell Kidd.

Someone let FSC and ESPN know this as well. Spastics.
I thought we were Mayn Yoo, according to them.

Whereas Chelsea is "one of the most historically successful and great English clubs in history".

I do laugh when they call United just "Man-Chester" though. Citeh don't exist for those guys, or for most of the fixtures so far this season thinking about it...
To be fair, Evra and lots of continental players who don't speak English do this too.

i remember watching a US sports show talking about Freddie Adu -

"he should go to europe and join a club like Manchester U"

Its like its a fecking college.

"Don't miss Manchester U's big clash with Newcastle U this Saturday on Fox Football Spectacular!" :wenger:

It's an insult. I feel insulted whenever I read Man Utd, and newbie forum...is full of it.
horselesspaul, you should get a horse, as a gift, for ranting it out.

How the feck is it an insult?? I don't like it myself but its hardly an insult and you can hardly blame a lot of people when so many tv shows refer to us as Man Utd. Get over it, i say.

I will never get over it. We shall fight them on the beaches, the landing grounds blah blah.
I think they need diversity training, hence the Sticky idea.
We are United, that's the point. If the word had one fewer syllables then it wouldn't be an issue (Man C. anyone?). It's just a lazy arse way of belittling our club introduced by haters and journos and that needs to be got across to the newbies, prawnies and those who think Beckham was better than Bobby Charlton.
French people often call the club Mon-Chest-Air until they learn differently, like Louis and Mikky. I bet Patrice has been informed by Gaz by now...although Gaz won't be too bothered about anything which denies the existence of The Bitters.

It only belittles us if it annoys you, just dont let it annoy you. Why bother worrying about it?

Well said that man. Gets right on my tits too.

Clayton Blackmore just called us Man Utd on five live.

Disappointing.

Always pronouced it 'Citeh'.

That's because you're a Manc and speak like you have a potato in your mouth. This also explains why you all speak down your noses a lot. Most nasal accent on the planet.

I've heard older fans say it a lot. And older players.

It used to be meant affectionately. Still is by those same fans/players. Just because ABUs have taken it over, genuine fans who have said it for years shouldn't be lumped in with them.
