A bit of muppetry to start the new year:
MANCHESTER United manager, Alex Ferguson has been heavily linked with a summer move for Nigerian and Tel Hapoel of Israel keeper, Vincent Enyeama.

The Old Trafford boss expects veteran shot- stopper Edwin van der Sar to retire at the end of the season and Ferguson is hoping to have a replacement lined up.

The United boss had already signed keeper Anders Lindegaard, although the Danish keeper is expected to be utilised as a back up keeper with Tomas Kuszczak set to move on in January or in the summer.

This is not the first time Enyeama will be linked with a big-time move to the English Premiership.

The Nigerian keeper was linked with Arsenal but Arsene Wenger, the Gunners coach, said he was only an admirer of the goalkeeper following an outstanding display at the 2010 World Cup.

In Spain, Enyeama was rumoured to be on the wish list of Espanyol should team first choice keeper, Idris Kameni of Cameroun, move to Tottenham Hotspur.

My take: a top keeper, the best player in Israel by far. Only drawback is that since he is short, he may occasionally flap at crosses.

The story is probably bullshit anyway.

he is a quality keeper, but most likely just rumours

We've already signed our new Number 2.

How can we be 'heavily linked' with him, when its the only newspaper that made the link?

Poor lad has been hoping to get a move to a decent European side for years now. For some reason it never happens.

Would be great to have a goalkeeper who takes penalties.

"Top keeper" and "quality keeper"? Really? A little over the top don't you think? He's decent but nowhere near good enough.

Not over the top. He really is very good.

Then why is he still playing in such a sub standard league after all this time? He's look extremely erratic everytime I've seen him for Nigeria.

He's an average keeper that pulls of the occasional eye catching save which excites people. Nothing more.

cmon never heard of him, we need proven people in good leagues like Nuer, adler, etc not some guy straight into the melting pot, with henrandez u have time due to their position, but a keeper 1 mistake and u can lose 3 points.

He was pretty much both heaven and hell in the World Cup, which is the only place I've seen him play to be fair.

Absolute ace and saved points for Nigera, but had two bad mistakes that pretty much ruined my impression of him.

Just based on that I think he's good enough to take a step up, but play a part for us? No thanks, but he seems like an absolute perfect match for Arsenal ;)

His shot stopping is actually outstanding, possibly one of the best in the world. But he's not good enough, no way.

He looked magnificent during the World Cup, except when he conceded... He seemed to have a knack of being at fault in those occasions. Story of our number 2s...

Average is a wrong word to describe him. He is above average.

I said above that level. I never said anthing about one level above. To simplify it for you he is far better than the likes of PIG. He is the level of keepers like Given. He is a very good keeper.

In which case I think you're wrong. Very erratic and flap happy.

Not good enough.
