Man of the Match threads

I get that no comments are allowed and fair enough, but all we end up with is a list of 3 players & its sometimes difficult to gauge overall opinion.

Could MotM threads be set up as polls, and is it possible to have 3 polls in one thread for 1st, 2nd & 3rd choice?

This will make it easier to understand the results and means we could have a Man of the Season collated from the individual match results.

Does that sound like a good idea?

We already have a player of the month/season, and I should know...

If you don't return to the threads you wont see the results, which are definately posted.

Also the polls wont allow change of mind, some people post one thing and have a rethink between the post and my totting up of the results.

Plus the polls can be easily abused, people can vote for the same person 3 times giving him more points than the rules allow for.

As has already been pointed out, we already collate the results. Adding up the scores and giving us the results every month is the best thing we have right now.

Like Phelan Shorts says, what you're talking about already exists, as he does what you're suggesting manually.

In theory it'd be perfect if we could have a new kind of poll system where you had to assign 1, 2 and 3 points to 3 different poll options thus making it automatic while people could discuss their choices in the thread, but I don't think such a poll feature exists for vBulletin, and thus we should just be happy that Phelan Shorts is willing to count the votes and post the results in every MOTM thread.

My bad, I guess I usually get bored looking at the posts & never get round to going back in and checking the results...

Not sure I understabd how this works though. 3 points for a top place, 2 for 2nd & 1 for 3rd & 75 people voted for Berba at either 1, 2 or 3?

Yep that's it, but as I'm sure you can guess typing that out for say 5/6/7 games a month is quite wearisome.

Well with the amount of time counting votes and adding them to the month/season figures then it's quite understandable to overlook that.
