Malinga takes 4 wickets in 4 balls

Very nice

I think what makes him so good is the fact that he slings the ball instead of bowling it, meaning that it only bounces about 2 inchess off the ground, either breaking your toes or destroying the stumps

Malinga the Slinga

Still skeptical about whether it's legal.

So how many times did the umpire give the finger to Malinga?

Thing is, if I was allowed to stand 3 yards away from the stumps and throw the ball, I'd fancy my chances of getting 4 wickets. There would be no difference between my achievement and Malinga's - both would (should) be illegal. Glad to see Safrica edge it

Well there's no doubt about Murali (though if someone's going to get away with cheating, they might as well do it for Lancs!) chucking it, hell they even had to change the rules of the game for him.

Why is it illegal?

South Africans are cnuts.

And Malinga doesn't chuck.

Well done Slinga! Worked wonders in keeping me ahead at the fantasy league table too

fecking hell can you not understand the word 'should'? His action isn't illegal in that his arm is straight (although I've seen deliveries where his arm is bent then straightens), but I detest his side arm bowling. For one it looks awful, second I think it can actually be a danger to the batsmen, and third if Malinga is successful with this action, and kids copy it around the world, cricket will be a poorer game for it. They've banned underarm bowling, I'd go further and say the release of the ball must occur above the line of the shoulder

Cricket is a poorer game(although not literally) due to ODI's.

Malinga's action is quite superb...Thomson had a similar action...great to finally see a fast bowler doing well.

Imagine a test cricket world cup...that would be amazing. No league shit, just a straight cup competition, shouldn't take longer than a normal test series.

Yes and my idea was they could play ODI in the end to to sort out the drawn test matches.

Is he the one that looks like he could well be the slightly better tanned, long lost brother of a certain caf mod ?

how can people say that malinga's action is illegal? it may not be so prevalent now, but the slinging action has been around for ages. even jeff thompson had one...

True...No money in it though....atleast thats what it seems now. We're going the other way with this 20-20 nonsense. There's a World Cup next year.

These slingers seem to get the best out of reversing the ball. Others like Shoiab, Waqar, Agarkar and a few more...have a similar slinging rythm on release though not as pronounced.

i havent a clue what this thread is about....

chucking??? is some one vomiting?
ODI??
underarm bowling?

my head hurts, im going for a lie down.....

IMVHO we should open a seperate forum for the Hurling finals.
