Derby County are ready to cash in on striker Malclom Christie.

But though Black Cats boss Peter Reid rates Christie highly, County claim that they have heard nothing from Sunderland so far.

With the Rams in real financial trouble, manager John Gregory knows he has to sell some of his best players.

And Premiership clubs are aware Derby would accept offers in the region of £5 million for England Under-21 international Christie.

The Wearsiders were last week linked with the striker in several national newspapers after top transfer target Robbie Keane again stated he's staying at Leeds.

But as pressure mounts on Reid to make his move the transfer market, a Derby insider has revealed that they've had no word from Wearside yet.

Derby will listen to any reasonable offer for Christie and Premiership clubs are aware that he's available," he said.

"But they haven't had any enquiries from Sunderland about him at the moment."

Lets get in there only 5million

Christie would be a good buy for £5m.

He's still young and has scored against the best in the PL, and will help keep Ruud fresh for the Champions League.

Anytime anybody mentioned Christie, you will get my vote for him .. ..
I believe Gazza and me were the original 2 that have mentioned abt him ... but well, getting quite a lot of diagreement then ... Ppl was saying that just 'cos he scored 2 against us last season didn't make him a very good player just suddenly ...

Well - I just like his attitude and fiery style ... and he's a Red Devil's fan alright !!
