He'd at times play beside Ruud and at times behind, and at times backup.

It's all very well him saying that he wants to come however, but do Deportivo want to let him go, and does SAF actually want him?

I don't know. I'm only glad Bayern won't get him on the cheap (he's dutch, ergo doesn't like Germans so won't go there). They would be a big threat with a good striker next year, but as usual they're too cheap to pay for one.

he didnt say he wanted to join us, he said he´d perfer us over bayern and basically told them to feck off

He's currently 27, and will be so when the new season starts (what this has to do with anything anyway, I do not know - Sheringham.....) He is not the fastest (but again, what does that matter), but is by no means a slouch, two footed, good in the air, great shot.....

27 goals in 32 appearances in the Spanish League, 9 in 11 in the CL. Work it out yourself.

I think he still has one year left on his Deportivo contract, so they might want to let him go for as much as they can get, obviously not his true value, for fear of losing him for nothing. He has a huge buy-out clause, but obviously, that is not going to apply.
