He's original ginger... I have a class-mate who used to play in the same team as Mads... Maybe I can get a picture of their team, as I believe I've seen it at my friends house... they were about 14 or 15 when it was taken... - I can put it on here... but only if you guys are interested :)

Pace, dribbling ability, a great shot, strength and he scores goals.

Fergie mentioned him today, so I guess there's a good chance;

"It is a similar situation to that Galatasaray game. The young lads are getting their chance. David and Gary took it then and hopefully those who play tonight will take it now. Kieran has got a change of pace. He's brave enough and tough enough. He's got a decent temperament and he likes the big stage - he loves it. We feel that youngsters like Danish lad Mads Timm has a terrific amount of ability. Daniel Nardiello is one of these players who can operate in the last third and has a goalscoring instinct about him. He still needs to get some strength about him but he has potential and we'll probably have a look at him."

Neville will captain the side tomorrow, with his manager hinting there may be a surprise debut for Danish-born midfielder Mads Timm, who only played two games for the reserves last season and does not celebrate his 18th birthday until Thursday.

``The nucleus of the starting line-up will have a great deal of experience,'' said Ferguson. ``But this is an opportunity for some of the younger players to confirm what we think about them.

``Mads has been with us for two years and has a terrific temperament, while Kieran got a little taste of it last week.

``Making your debut in a Champions League game is not easy but one of our young players will start tomorrow and we believe they have the ability to cope.''

So what entitles him to be different to the others? ;)

Sure. Stepping off the field at full time.

I thought Richardson did ok. I'd like to see him playing once with a full team rather than as a part of an attack that's incoordinated anyway.

Nardiello looked great. In the time he was on he beat more men than the rest of the team put together.

I think its impossible to judge any of the three really (but especially Timm and Nardiello). Having relatively little time on the pitch alongside a makeshift United side isn't exactly going to lead to amazing results.

What a useless tosser this lad is.

I'm not buying the excuss's either.

He cant control a simple ball, he doesnt know where the touch line is, he loses the ball like a school kid.

I'm getting more and more frustrated by the lack of quality coming through the ranks. Its just not good enough.

Totally underwelmed :(

You complete arse.

He will prove to be a great player. He was just bviously very nervous. It also did not help that Maccabi were defending deep when he came on.

Why are ppl slagging off Mads Timm. You cant judge him when playing just 15 minutes in his debut match. Hes only a boy. I cant stand some of you people on this site. jumping on peoples back when something goes wrong.

How many youngsters actually do well in just 15MINUTES coming on in a CL game AWAY from home and with the opponent 3-0 up defending DEEP !??!?!

If we can come out with all sort of excuses for our big stars like Becks, Giggsy and Veron for games which they played 90min and totally don show anything worth mentioning - then WHY are we condemning a promising youngster who just manage to get himself 15min 1st team football for the first time in such difficult circumstances !??

Nuts ..

spot on..

Mads has had some great games for the Under 19s running through his opponents ,scoring loads of goals. He needs to establish himself in the reserves yet, and play well there. It was too big a step up to go on in a CL game. However the thrill of it will whet his appetite and encourage him to get stuck into his training. I believe he could make it.
Not so sure about Richardson and Nardiello though unless they toughen up a bit.
Tierney Lynch and Pugh are at a different stage, they have regular places in the reserves and would find it easier to play in the First Team squad. Chadwick has loads of promise but will probably have to move to get a first team place. As will many of the other Utd Reserves.
Ben Williams has saved three penalties already this season!

I was at the game, and he didn't put a foot right - but then we were 3-0 down and he's only ever played 2 games at reserve level - he looked overawed, it happens. Doesn't discount his performances at his own level in the U19's and U17's which have been phenomenal. Richardson also looked at of his depth, and was very poor off the ball and lacked the confidence to take men on, also not crossing anything like what he can - psychological I think. These games are not good for them imo, they need to be the only one thrown into an otherwise strong side and be on the winning side. Nardiello came on and did very well, he's older than the other two, and much bigger, he did very well I thought, he's a bit of a handful, but I still don't change my opinion that he'll be a lower prem striker or upper first division only.
