I meant mash as in mashed potato. I have never seen the aforementioned show, do they eat mash?

Friday's are generally shite in Preston. What were you doing in this shitdump? We could have had a drink. Perhaps we did and didn't know it.

My train just had a stop there on my way to Manchester. No offence but it looked like a real shithole. I'd gladly have a drink with you, Elvis. But not Whisky. Next time.

fecking magnificent show, the first few years with Henry and Trapper feature some of the most crisp dialogue I've ever seen in a TV show.

Its good but I rapidly lost interest post Henry and Trapper.

Aye, it's a completely different show and much less funny so if you want the same sort of screwball humour to continue, it's a bit of a let down. By the end, it's basically a drama with some light moment, but always absorbing and very watchable.

They did grasp two concepts which the writers of most sitcoms seem not to realise, which is that except for a few special cases even a comedy needs to have deep characters that the audience can empathise with. And secondly, if you're going to have a long-running TV show the characters need to develop and change or it gets tedious indeed. Hawkeye, Margaret and Klinger are completely different people from the first series to the last.

You need to cut down on your whisky bashing, din hestkuk!

M*A*S*H* is a terrific show. Sometimes dull but one of the few sitcoms that can do serious too.

Absolutely positively one of my favourite shows from back in the day. One of those shows that had that fine balance between comedy and drama.

I know. Best Ensemble cast those days. Alan Alda was brilliant as Hawkeye as was the rest of the cast.
Favourite character - Hawkeye, probably followed by Radar.

the film is great, the series had its moments.....Ill never forget the first time I watched it when on holiday in donegal and realised that it had canned laughter all over it instead of what I was used to from BBC2, the horror. Makes all the difference, thats at least one good thing that came from the british occupation of Ulster...no fecking canned laughter on MASH.
