I thought he looked very classy when i seen him at the Milk Cup. He was very highly rated in NI here when he was signed by United. I think he had a very bad injury last season didnt he.
Northern Ireland under-17 captain Luke McCullough now has the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Jonny Evans.
McCullough has agreed a two-year scholarship deal with Premier League giants Manchester United.
The Portadown-born centre back is actually a Liverpool fan but now he will have the chance to shine for United.
“It's any boy's dream to get any club across the water but to get United, it's an added bonus,” McCullough said.
“The facilities were first class and the standard of player was better than anywhere else I visited. I'll just have to forget about it (Liverpool) for now.”
McCullough won’t have to look far for inspiration as the Evans brothers — Jonny and Corry — have rose through the ranks.
“It’s a great achievement for somebody from Northern Ireland to be a regular at Manchester United,” said McCullough, signing the praises of Jonny.
Missed most of 2010/11 with injury but had a very good 2011/12 both in Academy and FA Youth Cup.
Has failed to make the step up into U/21's and his off the field issues haven't helped him get a starting place. Has played very little football again in 2012/13.
So one good season and two without much playing puts in the very hard to judge category.
