Manchester United have bolstered their youth ranks with the capture of Northern Ireland under-17 captain Luke McCullough.

The Portadown-born centre back has captained his country at a variety of levels and inked a two-year scholarship deal at Old Trafford.

Speaking to MUTV, he admitted to supporting arch-rivals Liverpool but was ready to cast aside these ties.

"It's any boy's dream to get any club across the water but to get United, it's an added bonus," McCullough said.

"The facilities were first class and the standard of player was better than anywhere else I visited. I'll just have to forget about it [Liverpool] for now.

The player will be able to use countryman Jonny Evans as a role model and hopes to follow him into the United first team.

“It’s a great achievement for somebody from Northern Ireland to be a regular at Manchester United," McCullough added.

What do you mean, for now, you ungrateful bin dipping fecking cnut.

Just stick 'Kjaer' on the back of his jersey and some of the transfer muppet people might settle down for a while.

Young - check
Unheard - check
Cheap - check
Won't see him in the first team for another 3 years - check

Yep definitely a United signing

As opposed to those really expensive and world famous 16/17 year olds that everyone else is signing?
