Luke Chadwick scores in the reserves

Danny Webber and Luke Chadwick scored the goals that took the stiffs to within one victory of the title.

Despite boasting a team containing Lucas Radebe, Harry Kewell, Olivier Dacourt and Michael Duberry, Leeds were beaten within eleven minutes on their home turf - Webber netting after three minutes and a Luke Chadwick header making it 2-0 eight minutes later.

Choccy’s lot must now beat Leeds again - this time at Altrincham's Moss Lane ground on Monday 6 April - to win the Reserve League for the first time since 1997.


That was Luke's second game back, and with Fortune out, might give us the option to play with two wingers again. Good to see him back.

United's reserves are one win away from securing the FA Barclaycard Premiership Reserve League (North) title after beating Leeds 2-0 last night.
Their hard-fought victory at Elland Road was all the more special considering the Leeds team included first-team stars Harry Kewell, Lucas Radebe, Michael Duberry and Oliver Dacourt.
The win keeps Brian McClair's men in contention for the title, and they now need to beat the Yorkshire side once again, to take the Reserve League title for the first time since 1997.
Luke Chadwick was one of the scorers as he continues his build up to a return to first-team action after a three month lay off following a hernia operation.
Danny Webber, back after his impressive loan spell at Watford, got United's other goal and now the second string needs to beat Leeds again at Altrincham's Moss Lane Ground on May 6 to be crowned champions.

Webber has returned, you tit. He's even said that he's desperate to go back next year, rather than spent another season playing for the reserves.

Chadwick's return is cause for celebration. He gives the option to either rest Giggs or play Scholes in the middle against Ipswich.

Glad to hear the reserve team played well this season. If they win the title, will any of them have a chance to break into the senior team next season?
 
Looks like it! I suspect Stewart, Luke and Bojan will. Don't forget diego too! :)

I thought Stewart was superb when he came on second half for Scotland at Aberdeen.Has he been consistent in the reserves?I see he's been on the bench lately, so must be due a call up soon.
