So a Turkish journalist just tweeted that Galatasary have had an offer accepted for Digne, the player himself responded to the journo saying it wasn't true. The journalist then responded by posting a picture of the official proposal from Galatasary

When you translate the tweet it says - " Galatasaray reached an agreement with Lucas Digne and made an official offer to Aston Villa. Cenk Ergün started talks with Monchi."

Maybe he is saying it's not true that he's reached an agreement with them?

I don't understand Turkish, but according to google translate the original tweet says "Galatasaray reached an agreement with Lucas Digne and made an official offer to Aston Villa. Cenk Ergün started negotiations with Monchi."

Maybe they haven't reached an agreement with Digne and just stuck an offer in?

I don't know if that even happens nowadays to be honest. You're not really supposed to talk to clubs until an offer has been made or accepted according to "tapping up" rules but obviously clubs, players and agents don't stick to that. Bit of a waste of time preparing and making an offer if it turned out a player wasn't interested.

A long time ago I remember Solskjaer having an offer accepted by United from Spurs. That was unsolicited and he turned them down, wanting to stay with us.

"I hope this letter finds you well"

I'm not in the corporate world, isn't that some sort of cliche that people have come to hate? Usually "I hope this email finds you well"? Think I've seen that being trotted around as sort of a meme in recent times.

Imagine if this causes Digne to turn them down now

Not really? Or at least, I see variants of that all the time, I don't see the issue. Although this whole 'how are you doing' thing is more North American than European I think, so maybe that comes into it.

Anyway, I'm curious what's happening here. Is Digne going to be pissed off with his club for going behind his back now?

I don't know anything about this rumour but I guess Digne wouldn't have commented on that tweet so categorically in a social network if he considered a move to Galatasaray to begin with. Seems like a solo effort of his agent to me or the clubs negotiated without informing the player about it.
