Lovro Majer

My local commentator on the WC was talking about him as the next big talent from Croatia but he didn’t stand out when he played, I thought.
 
Yeah very fine midfielder. Was brilliant against PSG last weekend playing a deeper role. Would be one of the better options to replace Eriksen
 
Like him a lot, typical Slavic player, extremely technical. Not sure about his physicality, don't watch enough of Rennes - but what I have seen, he is very good on the ball.

He can play deeper too,

I actually think ETH would consider a ‘deep-lying’ playmaker with a McT or Fred infront of him as much as the Casemiro type who can do both. That was probably the idea with FDJ.

Majro is really good. I think that there is a risk that he could be a bit overrated. He has been the next big thing for Croatia, but it’s a country of what 5m people. The next Croatian star isn’t the same thing as the next Brazilian star. But if he could be had at a fairly OK price, I would definitely take him.

He's also not young, 24 already, he shouldn't be "the next big thing", he should be a thing already. Although I have liked what I have seen of him, just not sure he's equal to the hype of being the next Modric.
 
He's a good kid.

He's smart, technical and really really good with the ball at his feet.
He oozes class and his main feat is that he's really calm with the ball.
He's also left footed.

Watched him a couple of times at Dinamo, standout player when he was around.

Not sure if he can make it at the Premiership, needs to be stronger.

Although, a lot of people said the same thing about Luka.
In a couple of years, we might just regret not signing Lovro.

It's always a gamble, but if we could lure him in and not pay a fortune, he could become really good. Has all the treats.
 


Seems more like Bruno than Eriksen, he's still growing so maybe he can increase his passing range.

Van Den Boomen has more of the passes that remind me of Carrick
