Love - Forever Changes

Can't say I've ever heard of them.

If you were to send me a rapidshare link to the album I would be disgusted and would report you to the authorities immediatley.

I'll have a look round later, if I look now it'll just distract me from my work which I'm already behind with:mad:

On your second point, use them to your advantage. Go and do a silent but deadly one near somebody you don't like.

I would be there in a fecking flash, nailing her down some back alley.

I'd use at least a six-inch variety to fully penetrate the flesh and pin the wrist to the cross.
Also, use a Selby hammer as the head is weighted to correctly ensure nail is met head on and a smooth drive through wood (or flesh) is carried through.

I love Alone Again, Or, it's one of those songs that just hasn't aged and still sounds as fresh and original today as it did when it was recorded.

What a great album, anybody who hasn't heard it should download/buy it. I can't really describe the style of music, it's just happy music :D

Any other Love fans here?

Love were the original Lizard King's favourite band. From LA I think.

A rather disfunctional crowd, whom Arthur Lee essentially fronted. He produced Forever Changes in 1967 with a five-piece after two members were dumped (I may be wrong, but I think they were a nine-piece at one stage). He used session musicians for the first two or three songs of the recording before the rest of the band got their arses in gear. The following year Lee was touring Love with a complete new line-up.

Forever Changes is more acoustically influenced then earlier stuff they'd done. Lee had some kind of morbidity at the time which comes across in some of the lyrics. It pretty much bombed on initial release.

I have an original UK pressing I bought from Woolies in Corby 'cos I read in Rolling Stone, or somewhere, they were Jim Morrison's favourites. Twenty years later the album was regularly featuring in the top five of all-time greats alongside Sgt Pepper and Pet Sounds. It's still up there with the best I'd say and well worth tracking down on CD.

The Doors played played with Love at the Whisky a few times in LA before they were signed to Elektra (which Love were also signed to). And yeah, Jim was definitely a fan of Love.
