We only bought the most expensive defender in history in the summer.

Yes, but how funny would it be if a bunch of players Liverpool rejected ended up finishing above them?

The way it's going, they will. My prediction is that the scousers will finish 6th this year.

If they have a bad game again, and results go against them, then they could be ninth (only on GD).
It's a fecking madness! <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />
I think old Rush will be able to show Heskey and Diouf how to put the ball in the net, they should be ok for a UEFA Cup place.
"Emile, here is the ball, there is your foot, you hit it here, it goes in there. Understand?"

He seems to have fought back from a potential career threatening hip injury recently so maybe, IF he does not break down again, City are getting a bargain.
I hear whispers from ER that this is part of TV's plan to bring in Kleberson - this will allow Smith to return to his normal position along side Vids.
IF this is what happens it will lessen the disappointment of RF leaving.</strong><hr></blockquote>
I personally won’t be too disappointed to see the back of Fowler.
Ok his goal ratio has been good but his general work off the ball has been poor. In many ways buying Fowler was the beginning of the end, we didn’t need him and we had enough strikers. David O’Leary became greedy and bought him just because he is Robbie Fowler.
Also – buying Fowler ended the formidable Smith Viduka partnership, which took us to the semis of the champion’s league
Marching I hope the rumour that Klebeson is replacing Fowler is true, I've heard he is a real talent.

Aren't they totally differnt types of players?

I tend to agree with you Dave - although RF playing for so long with his hip injury did not help and yet he still scored nearly every other game.
Leeds have never had a regular 25-30 goal a season player and until we do we will struggle to live with teams that do.

As Jens said, Kleberson is indeed a midfielder....due to injuries and Leeds having options up front Smith has played in midfield for most of this season.
He has done well but is better suited to playing in his natural position, alongside Vids - with the loss of Bow and Dacourt our midfield is weaker than ever so that is where Kleberson comes in....Smith, Viduka up front....Kewell behind them...Kleberson in midfield.

youre in financial trouble, out of europe, have had to sell 3 of your best players and its not looking like youll be in europe next season</strong><hr></blockquote>
I think kleberson is still playing in Brazil's league (correct me if I'm wrong). So he may really consider joining Leeds, may be as a springboard to jump to other bigger clubs once he has settled down there.
