They're advertising it as being in cinemas from next week, but there's also separate adverts for it on Film 4...that's unusual isn't it?

I havnt seen the Film 4 adverts so I wouldnt know but maybe they are advertising behind the scene stuff?

No, I don't think so. It looks like it's going to be on Film 4.

Not that I've noticed.

Can't wait for it. I don't care how bad it could be, there's no way I'll be walking out of the cinema unhappy.

"I am not a man. I am Cantona"

This film is bound to make quite alot purely because of the sheer amount of United fans that will go see it. It's win win for the king.

Its a film4 production.

Same as Purley Belter (My favourite ever film)

I've just got back from seeing a preview and i was really impressed. Alot better then i thought it would be. It ticks most of the boxes comedy, drama, romance, football.

It's great, check it out.

Watched a free screening of this tonight. Quality film, all United fans should watch it.

Watched it a couple of days ago, I thought it was terrific and so did my woman who doesn't have the same sort of relationship with United or Cantona as I do. It's quite simply a very, very good film.

Bumping this for the DVD Release, and I think people should buy it from FC United, as I have just done

FC United presents United We Stand / Looking for Eric double DVD pack with Looking for Eric badge and a copy of the mask worn in the film £19.95 All profits to the club!!!

Looking For Eric, DVD Bundle Pack [LFE DVD B] - £19.95 : The FC United of Manchester Online Shop, Official Online Store for FC United kit and merchandise

A good deal IMO, and you get a cantona mask :D, and all money goes to FC.

I heard they pushed the DVD release back to October 12

It was released here last Thursday, and I got out to see it tonight.

A bloody good film. For the reason that while he's undoubtedly one of the main attractions, the bits that don't feature Cantona still drew me in enough to the point that when there was a 15 minute stretch or so without The King I'd almost completely forgotten he was in it I'd become so engrossed with Eric Bishop's story. I also really enjoyed the little nods to United fans - the argument in the pub about FCUoM, the game he went to being an actual Champions League game we played (I said to the friend I went with that the goal in that game was one of my favourites of all time), the posters and kits not just being all the new AIG stuff (lots of stuff from when the badge still said Manchester United Football Club).

I also have a friend that is now obsessed with Cantona. Which makes two of us.

Disgusting!!

That certainly hasn't sorted out my Tuesday night viewing.

I'm off to throw up now.

Just watch it.

Love it. Absolutely love it. It was a nice and heartwarming story. Cantona's part I think was interesting and I found it quite funny.

Wow. What a great movie. I love movies with lots of dialogue telling the story rather than seeing it in action.

The "I'm still trying to get over the seagulls!" bit was a nice touch. :D

I saw this film last night. Absolutely loved it. Sharky summarised it well. It is as good as any recent British comedy I can remember, with all the usual attributes: funny, sad, down to earth, uplifting. And then, on top of that, it has Cantona in it, playing himself, and being every bit as fecking cool as you hope he will be.

Eric Bishop is a very engaging lead role and I did love the bit already mentioned, the debate about FCUoM in the pub, when the guy storms out of the pub in disgust about what sell outs all the United fans are, only to come rushing back in moments later going "who scored? who scored?" Brilliant.

I imagine I will watch this film again before Christmas comes around.

Spot on mate.

Had me in tatters that  Certainly a feel good movie and with Eric playing such a major role, I have to say it was one of the most entertaining movies I've seen in a while. If nothing else, any Utd fan will love seeing him play himself. And why do I think that he actually meant what he said about that Irwin pass? feck me, I love that guy in a very homosexual way. The only man I'd turn gay for.

:( I want to get this film on DVD, but I don't think they made it in Region 1.

Film4 have backed some cracking films.

Dead Man's Shoes, This is England, Trainspotting and Sexy Beast being some of my personal favourites.

Not many people seem to have come across it, and for those that haven't i strongly recommend Dead Man's Shoes - fantastic film in my opinion.

It is great. A Shane Meadows film wasn't it?

Yeah Shane Meadows.

Toby Kebbell (who more will know from RocknRolla) was brilliant in it - i hadn't come across him before, but i thought he perfected the mannerisms incredibly. I wondered if the actor himself had a learning disability i was that convinced.

Paddy Considine provides a great performance too. A real hard character, without any of the Danny Dyer-esque traits a lot of low budget films seem to apply.
