Who else is watching? Mo Farah is in the leading group at the halfway stage. The crowds are out in force, the sun is shining and Mo has just dropped out as I type this.

Always like to get up early every year to watch the marathon. Great to see such large crowds today too.

Not been a great day for current Olympic/Paralympic champions has it?

No it hasn't. We can forgive them, though. It's such a long race that the best in the world cant possibly do brilliantly at every event.

Some of the female athletes look absolutely wrecked.

Men's race down to 4 now. On for world record pace. Exciting stuff!

Would be fantastic to see a world record broken!

It really is quite sad watching that female runner who got injured just struggling round now, fair play to her for carrying on and all, but its not nice to watch.

Yeah but just goes to show the mental strength they have.

Big move from Mutai there. He looks good, but is there another twist in the tale?

I love the way these runners look like they've just gone for a quick jog, not just run 26 miles
