I banned him last night as most of you requested. Now i've seen his first post in the newbie forum i've decided to let him back on. I dont honestly think he is a wind up merchant after reading his first post.

Hello from Finland!

I am what you could call a "neutral fan" as I don't feel I am a hardcore fan of any team, but I do have a soft spot for Manchester United. I have no problem of talking of "us" when I talk of Manchester United supporters, altho some people may find this objectionable because I am a modern day TV fan, who just fell in love with the style of play and football that Manchester United has produced in the last 10 years.

a so called "glory hunter"?!

Perhaps not, because results are not the most important thing for me but the style of play and passion the team shows.

I must admit there is bit of extra buzz when I follow Man Utd tho... and I wanted us(?) to beat Real Madrid last season altho they arguably played the more attractive football.

Perhaps I am growing emotionally attached to this Great club after all?

Time will tell...
 
I've sent him a PM asking him to be honest with me as to who he supports. So we'll see what comes of that.

Maybe the shock of being called up for his actions may make him stop and think, but it was his hijacking of threads, his general poor decision making when it came to the content of his posts and his general holier than thou attitude that pissed most people off. I am not a vindictive person so if he is prepared to change completely and not post the first thing that comes into his head then i will give him a break, but if he carries on like he has been i can see these threads descending into slagging matches again. :(

nothing wrong with that. give the lad a break. I think some are getting a bee in their bonnet over nothing (or at least very little)

there have been some OBVIOUS WUMS such as JSingh who has never been banned who comes in and post 20 transfer topics in a row.very annoying (and under his other disguises such as pires_arsenal)
Litmanen hasnt been that bad IMHO

Litmanen - is this not just as valid for other clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle, etc, so why do you make the point specific to Manchester United unless you are going out of your way to deliberately wind people up?
 
May i put in a good for Litmanen? In his last few posts he has seemed to turn the corner and his thread about "what would u rate our players" was a brilliant idea and i enjoyed posting on it. Quite frankly i believe there are people on this forum whos mindset is completely against Litmanen and those people will always have a probelm with him and never stop whinging. Good job Litmanen. Have u noticed that more people are supporting u lately?

I dont know what Stoned said to Limanen but whatever it was i wished he had done it sooner as he is not hijacking threads like he used to and seems to be posting slightly less radical views, and what psts he is making are not too bad at all. Keep it up Litmanen and well done Stoned.
 
The biggest problem for me is that by reading his posts he acts like the biggest United supporter, but then you get this itch that he may be a scouce twat in disguise, when reading more carefully his posts. As long as he sticks to the football forum and speak about united as a football fan with a soft spot for united (not like he would die for united) than he should be ok. I just hate the fact that he may be wuming the whole forum, and we are tolerating that.

I posted a completely neutral thread only to get what you call abuse from several people. The only one to whom I said something back was redinsyd. I called him a bitching scouse cnut and then ignored him. Now I have Gutsy and him both ignored, and I am not reading their posts.

Just tell me and I will make you the third one.

Mods, why not just put him on permanent ignore for the sake of the rest of the caf. :rolleyes:
 
Come on Busby mate, don't be a hypocrite. "Scouse cnut" is what redinsyd has called me in couple of dozen different threads, I just said it once back to him before putting him on the ignore list.

By ignoring these people I prevent the possibility of thread hi-jackings, that used to occur. Cheers.

btw. Why was my Stam thread closed in the Football Forum? There was discussion going on, and it wasn't abusive. :confused:

I must say i'm impressed with Litmanen and his ability to get on the MODs' good side.. he's still allowed into the Caf and has now posted over 450+ posts despite 15 people calling for his head..

There are hundreds of people discussing here... and the people asking me to be banned have remained at 4-5 for the last 2 weeks. Gutsy, redinsyd, Murt, reddevil2, Busbyreds.

I don't know what your problem exactly is. I have followed LFC message boards ever since Jari Litmanen joined LFC. I merely posted the observation that local LFC fans still back Houllier, while majority of the OOT's and global fans want him sacked.

I also informed you that if you want to see what the scousers think then visit www.redandwhitekop.com or forums.liverpoolfc.tv (also lot of global fans and OOT's there, so you need to distinguish between the two)

the koptalk has no local fans chatting there... but it is your choice to remain ill-informed.

I think this topic should be closed. It serves no purpose. Ignore me if you are hurting so much. There are only 4-5 of you anyway.

Don't tell me what I am or what I am not. I am growing tired of it. I grew a considerable dislike of Houllier, Phil Thompson and many other things LFC during the time Litmanen played for them.

In fact when I was watching their games.. the pathetic longball, pathetic favouritism, playing players out of position, the negativity... I was almost always rooting for the opposition. I was annoyed by the blindness of their so called true fans (the local fans, you see) who took pride in not questioning the management.

Genuine flair players like Anelka, Litmanen, Thompson, Fowler, Babbel were shipped out... while the donkeys remained. You see Ged is a school teacher.... he wants students who have A+ in obedience like Murphy, Carragher and Heskey... doesn't matter if these players are not as good as some others.

But that shouldn't even a topic of discussion here. I have hardly voiced one positive thing about Liverpool here.. it is all your invention.

When I try to inform you that a site you visit does not have scousers chatting there you take offense. I mean feck that... I only tried to inform you... that if you really care what they think, then visit sites where they are chatting.

This public witch-hunting is nasty.

If you don't like a thread, or think someone is trying a deliberate wind-up, then ignore it. For a start, if someone is trying a wind-up, why give them what they want?

There are other WUMs on here who are far worse than Litmanen. Either ignore him, or argue with him.

also he brings in a different perspective to the caf......whoever interested may answer and to those who feel that his opinions sucks...just ignore it....

of course banning someone is the answer sometimes, although i havent explicitly said or asked him to be banned.. It's up to a (or more)sensible mod to make a decision whether to ban him or not after reading his posts!! IMHO, if he is not seen as an obvious WUM, i dont know what is!!!!

He has polluted the forum by claiming he is a fan, and then go on to litter only negative things about the club. Honestly, why would majority on here, who are honest and true supporters want a pretentious poster around to make the forum more interesting, i just dont have a clue!!!!

i understand fully forum of this sort has not mission statement or the like, as this is a very informal forum. But will anyone (the founder and mods) seriously consider that a forum, an united fans forum should at least maintain a certain standard??? I mean allowing non fans (who honestly state their positions and go on discussing football) to have a healthy discussion (argument/fight... whatever you call them) is one thing, but having some so called united fans constantly and consistently pinpointing only weaknesses and sarcastic criticism of the players and manager and the club is in no way healthy!! It is not about having different view points, a WUM post is a WUM post and nothing more!!!

It's also not about cencorship, no!!! But at least we can maintain a reasonable standard of this forum by screening out dishonest posts, to maintain the intergrity of CAF, and make this site more interesting for visitors and regular posters.

I find it quite objectionable when we are constantly told that, 'if you dont like the posts, ignore it!' Fact is, dont we all have a moral duty to stamp out a WUM when we see one??? :mad:
 
Ladies and Gents, this a forum, people have an opinion and are entitled to it. Give the guy half a chance please, he's hardly stepped out of line because he posts in a different manner you are perhaps all used to.
