Needs to be promoted a hell of a lot more outside of Ireland. Ten times the talent of the likes of Duffy, Adele etc. Nominated for the Mercury Prize last year but it didn't seem to do much for her reputation across the Irish Sea.

She used to do a lot of stuff with Damien Rice before breaking away to do some solo stuff in the last few years. Sea Sew is a fantastic album that I'd recommend to almost anyone.

Ps. If my memory serves me right, a certain Caftard may have supported Lisa in the past.

Shes also very sexy in person.

I figured putting that in the opening post would have detracted from its serious subject but yes, she's a very sexy woman.

Fantastic voice but not sure I rate her as a song-writer.

Having said that, I don't think there's many female song-writers I do rate. I'm a musical misogynist.

Same with comedy, come to think of it.

And authors.

Actually, I think I'm a misogynist full stop.

Personally prefer it sang with Gary Lightbody but such a stunningly beautiful song. Sung by a woman of the same breed. Oh to wake up and to her Ms. Hannigan singing in the shower. Life would be bliss.

Yeah. It's quite odd, isn't it?

And she's got a lovely voice, as you said, but she's probably better singing someone else's songs, if this album is anything to go by. My missus put it on on a journey to Cork, and 'bland' is a word that definitely sprung to my mind. And her album wasn't great either. Boom boom.

That's a great tune in the original post. I may have to do some further research.

She's got a pretty voice for sure, but I'm not convinced I'd describe it as "fantastic". She has no power behind it - it's as if she's whispering half the words, at least in that song in the opening post.

She sounds great on that duet but the bloke feckin ruins it. Hate his voice.

I don't hate it but I prefer the original with Gary Lightbody.

Paul Noonan is ins a quite successful Irish band called Bell X1. You should check them out they're pretty good.

I echo your sentiments.
