Apparently a well known agent in Italy has gone on TV to declare United are interested in signing Totti from Roma.
The agent says United are prepared to break the bank to sign Totti, who has indicated he would like to play in England at some stage of his career.
Just thought you all would like to know...

Personally I think Totti would be brilliant playing just behind Van Nistelrooy, but what chance Roma would part with their favourite son? :(

Well if there is any truth in this, then Veron is definitely leaving. The PLC will not let Sir Alex to spend 50+ million on the transfer. Knowing that we have to get 1-2 world class defenders (20-25 million at least), how the hell can we afford a 30 million attacker as well. Mind you, I don't mind switching Totti for Veron really. We need a world class attacker rather a world class midfielder (which we already have in plenty). Anyway, it's just paper talk again as usual.
 
I just can't see this happening, I think Totti will end his career as a Roma player.
 
Totti is valued far over 40 million pounds.

Your quite right, talk of Totti joining United is fecking rediclious. He's good but there is no way he is worth that kind of money. £40 million could make several decent signings.

This is my 2nd choice attacking dream signing. Ronaldo being my first. But Duff may be the better all round choice.

I wouldnt mind swapping Veron either, Totti can play in the hole much better than anyone we have.

Fergie is on record as saying how much he likes Totti and how he will outshine everyone other player in this years WC. Apparently Fergie thinks Totti will go up another level becoming truly world class.

I wonder what Capello would say to Totti moving to Man Utd.

He is currently the best player in the world in that link striker role - a wonderful dream + but the reality is that Totti will be a Roma player probably until he retires, but hey you never know???

PS. Funny i was wondering how long it would be till we were linked with Totti, he seems to be the only world class player that has escaped the united rumour mill.

.... Rumors to us aside, did the guy really say that??? An Italian+Serie A superstar says he'd love to come to England??? Never knew he had this desire to play in the premier league....
He's mint though, and if we didn't need class defenders so much, I'd want Fergie to do everything to sign this guy if the guy wants to play in England so much. He's Zidane caliber, not right now maybe, but definitely has that potential.

Dont newspaper reports always quote players as saying they would like to play in England at some stage????? yes, normally in their twilight years....

I applaude Sir Alex though. He is trying to get big players to consider moves to Utd. Blanc would have been nice 5 years ago......Thuram would have been nice 2 years ago......Zidane would have been nice a year ago.....R Carlos would have been nice 2 years ago.... :cool: :cool:
