Bitten by an adder as a baby, the adder died.
I have really tried to get into games like ME2, Skyrim and GTA4 but I've come to the conclusion that I just don't enjoy the sandbox style. Maybe it's because I don't have hours and hours to sink into games but it could well be that I like being taken on a journey as opposed to making one for myself.

With that in mind I have played all the Uncharted games and adored every minute of them, I like that there is only one right way of playing them and you don't spend hours lost in forests or customising armour. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a similar game? I was thinking of Dead Space 2 or MGS4........

I'm exactly the same. Sandbox games just don't do it for me. I think you're right about wanting to be taken on a journey. A good game should have a narrative that brings you along for the ride, not just dumping you in the middle of something and expected to make it up as you go along.

Can't give you much useful advice though. Haven't played games in a couple of years now. The early MGS games were good, the most recent one a tedious ball-ache to play. In my days as a gamer, the Uncharted series was as good as it gets.

Yes I've heard people say that there's an awful lot of cut-scenes and not much action, perhaps the remastered MGS collection might be worthwhile as I think I've only played one of the three. I just worry that there's no point having a PS3 if you're just to to play rehashed PS2 games.

Uncharted, Mafia 2 is a very linear Sandbox game, LA Noire is the same 'each case around an hour long. Very easy to jump in and out of that game', Max Payne and Heavy Rain. There's also the Rainbow six games which are on sale at the moment on PSN, and Splinter Cell HD collection.

I have just started going through my backlog of games I have bought but yet to play. If you like shooters I enjoyed both Vanquish and Bulletstorm. And they are very linear

Enslaved, Castlevania:Lords of Shadow, Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, God of War 3. Those are all action adventure games that are fairly linear and got a story. They should all be fairly cheap to buy and don't take 40 hours to finish.

I don't think Arkham City is really that linear.
