Going to assume Shaw is the only universaloy agreed ever present.
 
I think ETH is going to prefer Shaw at LCB. He wants a left footer there.

AWB---Maguire---Shaw---Malacia
 
Malacia is really not very good and our game is very dependent on having Shaw as that left-back playmaker/creator. So I'd go with Maguire and Lindelöf.
 
We got to go with AWB until Varane is back atleast can’t be having Dalot aswell play with our back up centerbacks we need all the defensive help we can get with the back ups in the team.
 
Didn't Casemiro play CB earlier on in the season? I'll put him there.
 
Hasn't McT played CB for Scotland? Not seen him mentioned the last two days as another option.
 
Unless we're bombarded aerially I'd go with Lindelof-Shaw with Malacia and AWB. If Dalot can get back to an acceptable level that'd be great. Malacia's last outing was way below what we rightly should expect from him so I'd trust putting Shaw at centre back.

he has but it’s as part of a back 3 with licence to get forward. Don’t think it’s fair on him to ask him to play in a back 4.

Dalot Lindelof Maguire Malacia​

Vs Sevilla:
Wan Bissaka Maguire Shaw Malacia​

Vs Brighton:
Wan Bissaka Lindelof Shaw Malacia​

Maguire and Shaw as the main partnership generally. Rotate Wan Bissaka and Dalot, and then rotate Malacia and Lindelof while moving Shaw between LB and CB.

AWB picked on form and the RCB is whoever Shaw looks more comfortable with.

I think the big move here from Ten Hag will be more tactical than personnel, and we’ll play more on the break to be less open and try to create less from combination play and more Bruno and Eriksen balls over the top. Less Weghorst and Sancho and more Elanga.

Do you really want to see Fred receiving the ball under pressure near our box a lot?
 
Wan Bissaka - Maguire - Shaw - Malacia

That would be our best option. Casemiro in front with Eriksen and Bruno in a 3 so theres always an option for a pass to help Maguire with playing out.

For me Lindelof is our 3rd cb so lindelof with shaw or maguire depending on the opponent

100% this. Cas is back now to protect the back four which will make a massive difference. Eriksen starting will help us control and retain possession better. What we really need is a spell of form from Sancho or Antony or preferably both.
 
Dalot pretty much came to the conscious of Europe playing LB for Porto covering Telles when he was injured so pop him back in to LB and have Shaw at CB with probably Lindelof, although ETH has been giving Maguire a shot recently.

I just don’t think Malacia has been that good for the last few months when he has made appearances
 
We just need Shaw back. He's our third best centerback. If he can play, varane isnt out for too long, i would go with: AWB Varane Shaw Malacia

That said, Malacia has to up his game.
 
With Shaw and Varane back I’m a lot more confident as we’ve looked good with them as a centre back pairing, we just need to squeak through until then with Maguire, Lindelof and Malacia.

I'll take that as our end of season especially since out key players are injured
 
Maguire and Shaw is a no brainer as we do not lose anything regarding passing as Luke covers the passing game of Lisandro and Harry is better at it then Varane anyway... the loss of the pace of Varane is a bit of a concern though.
I would be okay with Diogo at LB as well as Malacia does not offer much going forward and Diogo is probably a better defender anyway.

Is Fred better on the ball than Wan-Bissaka, Malacia, Dalot and Shaw? If so, they all receive the ball under pressure next to our box. If not, I have nothing else to add. :)
 
AWB - Lindelöf - Shaw - Malacia but Maguire in Lindelöf's place is more realistic.
 
Hear me out, AWB at CB, Luke Shaw at LCB. This sounds crazy but it can be extraordinary.
 
Shaw at LCB will be the preference.


I wouldn’t be surprised to see Dalot at LB some games. He played well there for Milan on loan.
