Just saw an ad for it... Harvey Keitel and Michael Imperioli are in it. Might be worth a look

US versions are usually far more shit, Cracker turned to Fitz, Ab Fab was wank, The Office was poor...

It started off bad because they were using the British scripts but the US Office has been pretty good tbh.

Wow, just seen it AND IT'S feckING SHITE.
No surprise though, they were never going to reach the quality standards of the original series.

The original was immense. I chose not to watch the new versh just because it would tarnish the original.

As far as the UK version goes, is Ashes to Ashes any good? They've started showing it on BBC America but I absolutely loved Life on Mars and I'm worried that this will be a big disappointment. Plus John Simm ain't in it, and he's class.

meh... its ok... but its not as good as life on mars

The US version started okay then got shit quickly, good cast with Imperioli, Keitel and Gretchen Mol but the rest are shite, very poorly acted and the jokes don't have the same effect as the UK version.
I have watched it partially the last few weeks, turned it over last night as was gash.

Well, I thought same as you. If you see it you'll be thinking "Well this is like deja vu" but as you go on you see the story is more complicated than Life on Mars IMO. But yeah John Simm is class.

I reckon many of us loved LOM because it was shot in Manchester.

I suppose so, although my little sister brought over a DVD of a show called Cutting It which was set in my beloved Manchester and I nearly twatted her for putting it on it was that bad....

John Simm is a legend, I even found Doctor Who vaguely interesting because of his performance as the Master.

Yeah, I meant that it added to the charm.

I've been watching the US version and I like it, it's far from shite, Fitz was a crap American version of Cracker but who said the American version of The Office is poor?....

It's not poor, it's great, methinks some people are far too willing to slag off anything American whereas I just call shite shite and a few, just a few American versions of our shows are good........

My thoughts exactly... same with the US version of Worst Week.. started well and turn turd

I hear they trying to hock around the US Top Gear to cable now... I think NBC or whoever backed out because they didn't want to piss off any car company sponsors that the show might offend by slagging them off.

Indeed.
And loved his Raskolnikov in Crime and Punishment.

I started to watch Ashes to Ashes but stopped after fourth episode. Poor if you ask me.

I'd recommend you to continue. Gets interesting, but well that's my opinion I don't want ot be slagged if you don't like it.

I guess here is an advantage of having a public broadcast service.
