Leverkusen

I've watched this side four times this season and on three occasions, including today at Nurnberg, they have lost. They seem especially vulnerable on the flanks, which is precisely where they were not tested against United at Old Trafford last Wednesday. If United revert to a more conventional 4-4-2 in Leverkusen I can see Giggs causing them some real problems.

It looks like Bayer are bottling it in the Bundesliga, much as they did in 1999. They lost today to the 15th place team and now trail Borussia Dortmund by a single point.

Thanks......

I was just gonna ask if anyone saw Bayer at the w/e, after I saw the result.

By the way did they rest much of their first team?

good question...

and good info wythykid. i really think if we have a more set, and typical, midfield we can posses more of the ball and cause more problems for their defence.

I agree, we have to use the flanks, Giggs out left is a must. Maybe even give Chadwick a run on the right at start to see how they handle being taken on from both flanks. Ole and RVN up front. Hope Ronny and Larry are both able to play. also Dennis in place of Gary. Shit. I have just written my selection on paper and have picked 12 players. Me need a rethink.

Glad I am not the manager :D

From Nürnberg V Leverkusen match report. "Trainer Klaus Toppmöller hatte zwar exakt die gleiche Elf wie in Manchester aufgeboten, aber ihr fehlte die körperliche und geistige Frische." Translation: "Toppmöller played the exact same 11 as in Manchester, but they were lacking the physical and mental freshness" Here's hoping they are the same on Tuesday. Then we can beat them.
