Yesterday's game was bad, but it showed something interesting, our communication on the pitch, or the lack of communication. What I saw, was a team not talking to each other, not motivating each other, but they were arguing about (the wrong) movement, the lack of movement, etc. Especially our defense did not talk. Nobody orchestrated the back 4 + DDG, the same problem with our attack. Without Bruno they acted like headless chicken, no leadership, no commander... The problem, who is responsible for it? The players, the coach, both? It is a tricky question, because obviuosly it is a mix of characters, coach, lack of leadship. But how could it be fixed?

DDG Maguire and Lindelof have played over 100 games together. The fact that they still play like they met for the first time is really up to them, no matter who the manager is. Especially, DDG and Maguire who seem to be unable to communicate in other circumstances too.

It's becoming noticeable, for me anyway, that there appears to be a problem between De Gea and Maguire, not sure, but several times during the game there seemed to be a lack of understanding between them, and little things like Maguire giving De Gea the 'talk' signal after that clearance Maguire made first half when De Gea had come out to the edge of the box.

There was a point in the second half where Lindelof was being backed into the corner, whilst Maguire had a man in his shadow so the only pass was back to DdG but Lindelof just didn’t trust him.

The communication is broken because they see in each other what we see in a lot of them as a collective, they’re not trustworthy enough.

It’s also very difficult to be vocal with each other when they make so many mistakes themselves.

It looks to me like Maguire and De Gea do not get along, which is a recipe for disaster at the back.

Add to that both of them are mental midgets and I'm not sure any degree of communication will solve our problems if they're both on the pitch.

Communication has always been a problem with DDG. It's no surprise that the back line has looked more settled and reliable when other keepers like Romero and Henderson played, even if the keepers themselves had less ability.

This is not surprising. Maguire is clearly part of the Brexit brigade and this can be traced back to OGS when we had leaks some players wanted an English speaker in goal and Henderson pushing for a starting spot based on what he dreamed of achieving, as opposed to his actual ability.

These are things that people were laughing and ridiculing at the time but it's pretty obvious if you speculate a little. Maguire is just not a guy to lead an international team. He speaks like a West Brom player, plays like one and communicates like one.

That is not to say we shouldn't bin De Gea but Maguire is almost always part of any problem we find on the pitch where the team is dysfunctional.

I think its worse than this

We had communication. Our players communicated, they were just shit. Maguire communicated wanting the ball. Lindelof communicated pointing to Casemiro for the 2nd (and struck off for offside) goal. When Casemiro got the ball Lindelof didnt make himself an option, Casemiro tried to turn out of trouble and played a loose pass to AWB.

In both cases there was communication, but Maguire and Lindelof instructed others for something that was bad. Poor decision making and game reading from the players who were communicating. Obviously DDG should have ignored Maguire because he can see its a bad pass. And once the ball was passed everyone in the team should have been shouting to Maguire to help him have some awareness of the 3 players coming towards him and what to do. But there was communication.
