i don't know every song he did, but each one i know is excellent

I think that this canadian singer and composer doesn't get the recognition he deserves, so my canadian e-friends if you want to share some youtube links of his songs i'll appreciate it

yeah he's brilliant... depresses the feck out of me though..

really outstanding, if quirky, artist.

I'd recommend some songs but they're pretty much all good.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't got many replies. He's too great. He's just magnificent.

Dance me to the end of love has got to be the sweetest and best love song written, ever.

He's also a magnificent novelist, Beautiful Losers is one of my favourite books, it makes you wander through every feeling you can think of. His books of poetry are also out of this world.

Leonard Cohen is just on another level.

I love Cohen. Closing time is one brilliant song. I really ought to listen to his whole catalogue. Great lyricist.

I have to disagree here, his poetry is great. Let's Compare Mythologies and Parasites of Paradise are on another level, let alone the Book of Longing, which is also magnificent.

"Come here you, thou
Bring all thy, bring all thine
Far into the splinter let's sing for nothing."

Jesus fecking Christ that is stunning.

I went to a concert of his recently, and it was very nice. He's still admirably full of live and enthusiastic. The only* annoying bit was that he did umpteen encores, when me and my mate was supposed to meet up with someone and get pissed. (This was in Oslo. In Norway Leonard Cohen is bigger than Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga together.)

*No. One more thing was annoying. I had seem him a year or so before, and it was basically the same setlist. And one more thing: him and his band inserted meaningless solos into most of the songs. But it was still a very good show. Having a few dozens of terrific songs helps.

Went on a massive world tour over the last 2 years. Not sure if its still ongoing.

He plays Sydney soon. I wanted to go but he is playing ANZ stadium which is the size of Old Trafford. Might as well watch a DVD and save a few hundred dollars.
