Thought I'd start a new thread for those who are feeling utterly uninspired by the transfer targets regularly flouted on numerous threads here.

For those posters who feel there is better value in comparable, cheaper and dare I say smarter choices.

For example:

Target: Eric Dier - £40-50m.
Alternative: Oriel Romelu - £20-30m.

Target: James - £40-60m
Alternative: Riyadh Mahrez - £30-40m

Target: Michael Keane - £25m
Alternative: Harry Maguire - £15m

Thoughts / Examples?

Target: Antoine Griezmann - £90m
Alternative: Victor Anichebe - £1m

Target: Romelu Lukaku - £70m
Alternative: Peter Crouch - £500k

In no particular order or preference:

- Steven Nzonzi
- Demarai Gray
- Ryan Sessegnon

Target: Romelu Lukaku
Alternative: Didier Drogba

Target - Griezman
Alternative - Jamie Vardy

Actually think Vardy would be a great signing for a year or two. Pogba hitting balls for him to run onto.

Target: Antoine Griezmann - £90m
Alternative: Wayne Rooney new 5 year deal.

Target: any big name attacking player
Alternative: any non-big name technically excellent player + a good coaching staff

Target: any big name midfield player
Alternative: any non-big name midfielder who has ability and desire to do the dirty work and can keep high energy levels for the whole game.

In no particular order - sign all to complete Liverpoolisation of club.

Fraiser Forster, Cedric Soares, Jason Puncheon, Michail Antonio, Josh King

RB: Nordi Mukiele (Montpellier) as Valencia's understudy, Bernardo (Leipzig)

CB: Joris Gnagnon (Rennes), Hoedt (Lazio) Diego Reyes (Espanyol, on loan from Porto)

LB: Samir (Udinese), Dalbert (Nice)

CM: Tousart (Lyon)

Edit: Thiago Maia or Rodridgo Caio as Carrick replacement perhaps?

Berardi (Sassuolo)

Always surprised none of the bigger clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal or Spurs snapped Nzonzi up and he slipped off to an average Spanish side. I wouldnt take him myself for us but he would make a good signing for lots of premiership sides. Players not seen linked with the premiership much yet:

Lafaont - Very promising young keeper, if we went with Romero next season as number one which Im neither for or against, he would be a very good young signing to make.

Romagnoli - Reminds me of Nesta, not sure he will ever be at that level but very good on the ball and looks well organised and a leader, something lacking in our back line. Think he could be a good partner for Bailly and a good influence on Shaw as well.

Ascacibar - Have to admit, this one is a bit of a FM and youtube choice. Have read about him but not seen him play club football just the Olympics. He appears so the type of player needed in our midfield, reminds me a bit of an early Mascherano and dare I say it Roy Keane from the Olympics and youtube I have viewed. Energy, aggression and being linked with big clubs. Maybe a bit early for him but this is so the type of signing I would love us to make.

Dahoud - Kept an eye on him when watching German football as he keeps getting linked with Klopp. Reminds me of a cross between Ross Barkley and Emre Can. Does look very talented and energetic, could become a great player. At the same time he does seem to do silly things when i have seen him in the wrong areas just like Barkley

You've obviously not heard but he's signed for Dortmund already for next year.
