Sylvestre is a superb athelete and good at going forward but there still a cloud hanging over him over his defensive abilities. Just recently he lost us the goal vs Arsenal.

After watching him against us, Liverpool and Real I was really impressed by Bayer's Placente. Defensive composure and attacking gile. I think he would link well with Giggs and would not be so heavy on the purse.
 
we have th best left back in the premiership already ...
 
I think we can safely assume Micky will be our first-choice left-back next season. <img src="graemlins/yawn.gif" border="0" alt="[Yawn]" />

frank quedrue from 'boro impressed me the one or two times i'd seen him. think he just signed with them for 2 mil. though. where's willy sagnol play, right side?

Besides. Zanetti played on the left for Argentina at france 98 and as the overaged player in the 1996 Olympics Silver nmedalist

:rolleyes: He could sign, but he won't. Silvestre is about as good as Zanetti is on the left. Do you seriously think SAF will go for a LB when he doesn't need one, when there are other, more important places to improve ? <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" /> Not going to happen.
 
Kemo, Zanetti is an intanational established right back, hense the fact he is right back club and country not a left back, funny that <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />
