Leeds will appeal and Legg has done the right thing and made a statement....

Andy Legg said today: "At the end of the day I've caused the foul because I've held him. I was aware of his pace and I didn't want him to turn me and run me. I was tight to him and holding him, and to be fair to him he was just trying to shrug me off.

"I don't think there was any malice or intent involved. It's just he was trying to get rid of me, and unfortunately he's caught me in the mouth and cut my mouth. I was disappointed to see him get sent off, but it seems you can't raise your arms at all these days.

"You do that and you are in trouble. But I'd be willing to help the lad if necessary - of course I would. I would say exactly what I'm saying here because I think I'm an honest player."

All credit to Legg....shame about his chairman

These 'appeals' make me laugh, lets say the red card is overturned, it doesn't change the fact that it changed the game and probably cost Leeds a place in the next round of the cup. It's like rubbing salt in the wounds.

Totally agree mate....refs need to think before they act....players really don't know where they are from one ref to another.

There is also a full enquiry by the FA and the Welsh FA into the behaviour of Cardiff fans and Chairman too....apparently Leeds were told by Cardiff officials to draw the blinds on the coach when they arrived at the ground and to not celebrate if they scored in case it caused a riot!

How this club is in an English league I do not know

Footy is a contact sport ffs.

Cardiff City supporters have a recent history of violence, a game against Stoke City was one of many instances of this. I know Leeds fans have a history themselves, but hell, so do we....Leeds fans and the club have my sympathy and i just wish Cardiff would get thrown out of the cup and Leeds get reinstated, These mindless thugs can't be allowed to spoil it for the thousands of genuine fans.

I mean, is there any point?

You are entitled to your opinion of course but others may disagree...sorry to pose such a personal and obviously tricky question for you thicko

Anyway, moving on from Marchy's hatred, back to Dirty Smith and his red card appeal...

I hope he doesn't get off, anyone else see his petulant kick at Legg shortly before he was carded?

Typical of the thug, and really stupid. Why would he do something like that after O'Nearly's repeated warning to him etc? Not the brightest spark in the world is he?

I've lost have I?

You seem to be trying to change the subject rather that answer the question or points raised...

So is Smith as stupid as he is Dirty?

Not just that, Teddy Sheringham's appeal failed recently and his sending off was just as controversial.

I can't see the FA overturning it, mainly because of the principle that the refs decision is always final and they don't want to usurp the refs authority.

You win some, you lose some. IMO Robbie Keane should have been sent off for swinging at Becks earlier in the season. That decision could have turned the game in our favour if he's been sent off, but he wasn't.

Yes what you say is correct...

And you must remember that the FA have got it in for Dirty Leeds as O'Nearly told the nation after his side had been embarrassed at the hand of second division Cardiff City. So what chance does that little thug Smith have if Sheringham's card wasn't overturned?

I feel so sorry for Dirty Leeds their nice players are always being picked on

What have I lost Marchy?

Are you just going to accuse me of everything I accuse you of today? Sheep...

So you agree that Smith is very stupid and a thug do you?

Leeds are citing the Bellamy and Shearer incidents which were very similar and the ref saw sense with those and Leggs statement and offer of help should count for something...Sheringham was unlucky to get sent off and Keane was lucky not to...it just goes to show how difficult it must be to play with refs like these in charge.
To assume refs don't make mistakes and deny players the right of appeal would be suicide...there would be no hope for a fair game then!

You have lost the arguement and changed the subject as usual...all I asked was if you had a point in life?
No I don't agree with your stupid assumption on Smith....any more purile questions thicko?

What arguement have I lost Einstein?

And when you say purile questions do you mean those such as "Do you have a point in life"?

So you think Smith is an intelligent, clean player do you?

You won't answer this...you'll call me thick and say I've changed the subject...

The villification of refs has come about because of the enormous focus on individual incidents with action replays from every camera angle conceivable and STILL people and TV pundits can't agree on what was a 'correct' decision.

Eevry week I watch junior football (U12 & U13) with young teenagers refereeing, doing their very best, and I can't believe the abuse they get from coaches and onlookers. Nobody deserves that, and if the intense spotlight on refs goes on like this then soon there will be no new refs coming thru the ranks.

By all means introduce technology to help the ref to make on field decisions, but lets not go down the path of invalidating refs decisions at a later date.

PLayers and refs make mistakes. Learn to live with it, cos it usually evens itself out over a season

and of course there has been occasions when he has deserved to be booked and hasn't been...

Always in trouble that one...petulant

I was simply hoping that you weren't going to go down a similar road as yesterday Marching with the "I don't deserve to live" sentiments. If you disagree with my football opinions then say so, hurl a bit of abuse...I'm fine with that. Best not to go to far tho eh?

Its not my fault you're out of the Cup....

And suprise suprise [sic] I'm waiting for a response on why you deem me bitter?

Yesterday I claimed that folk do not always get what they deserve, your response was that I was still walking around...

I'm sure you'll do your best to piece together some innocent explanation....

Was pretty suprised ( ;) ) by that little exchange myself. A little over the top IMO, marchy.

Davo,
I have read your pathetic tripe over many weeks, and at best you deserve little more than pity, you are indeed a inbred half wit with the humour of a sad little cretin.Take a deep breath and think [IF POSSIBLE]before producing your witless bile!!!!!
