Leeds bring in Mullan and Burns

Leeds United have handed a trial to former Manchester United youngster Jamie Mullan.

The Nottingham-born winger is on the lookout for a new club after being released by The Red Devils.

With a number of players out of contract or on loan at Elland Road, Dennis Wise (pictured) is keen to scout new talent.

Mullan is adept on both wings and spent two years as an Academy scholar with The Red Devils after joining from Notts County.

Wise is expected to give Mullan a number of days' training with Leeds before deciding whether to offer a deal.

Manchester United youngster Jamie Mullan could make a summer move to Swansea after a recent trial at the club.

There was speculation a couple of months ago suggesting that he was joining us and manager Roberto Martinez says he could well join us permanently in pre-season.

He said: 'He has a fantastic record in the United reserves.'

'He has pace and talent and he is highly-regarded, but he is being released so we've spent some time together.

'He's gone back up north for now, but it's something that is going to continue and it could well be that he comes back soon.'

Mullan joined the Premiership side from Notts County in 2004 and has been a regular for the Reserves team.

He is a versatile winger and is comfortable playing on either flank. He possesses pace and good crossing ability which sounds to me the type of player we'll need next season.

Tom Williams isn't a regular on the left wing and we don't have any other left sided players with pace and good crossing ability.

Aaron Burns as well by the looks of it - also on trial at Leeds according to both official sites.

Makes sense really with Brandy and Fagan coming into the reserves full-time next season.
