Winger interest grows

Bristol City, 12:37, June 12, 2009

Leeds have reportedly joined Bristol City and Ipswich in the battle to sign Man Utd winger Lee Martin this summer.

The 22-year-old made his Red Devils' debut on the final day of last season at Hull as United rested players ahead of the Champions League final in Rome.

But apart from that game, Martin has not managed to force his way into Sir Alex Ferguson's plans and looks set to move on if a club matches his £1m valuation following loan spells in the Championship with Stoke, Plymouth, Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest.

The Whites, though, must be considered outsiders to do the deal as both the Robins and Tractor Boys can offer Championship football.

poor journalism. Martin made his debut in Carling Cup in 2005, disappointing that he didn't make any telling improvement until this January.

hope he can go playing for Keano.

Lee Martin is maybe not good enough for a squad place at Old Trafford. But if he can put in the same effort he did in the reserves for the last few months, then he will be a brilliant aquisition for some one be it Championship or maybe a bottom half Premiership side.

I think he didn't get enough credit from the press for what was a decent game against Hull City on the last day.
