Going back to the barcoad game...

I thought he looked pretty impressive for his debut, he didn't seem overawed by the occasion... looks like a tall Scholesy... already better than Paddy Roche ;)

Well there you go... two people, watched the same game, different opinions.

He wasn't exactly on for long - I just remember Shearer getting in front of him and outjumping him, but he does that to most players. He's alright in the reserves, but not particularly outstanding imo, nor as good as Tierney. We'll just have to see how he responds to his first team chances.

It was a hell of a game to get thrown into. I would like to see him play along side a couple of the more experienced players. He did ok, its a bit difficul to call because Newcastle didn't put us under a massive amount of pressure even after they got it back to 5-3.

I am with 77. I also thought Roche did quite well against Newcastle. Twice he intercepted the ball a la Blanc. He got pushed around a bit by Shearer, but all in all he looked good. That's why I was surprised to read match reports about how nervous he was.

He did two nervous tackles, why does it surprise you? ;)

he didnt impress me, and I dont think he will make the grade at OT unfortunately. I hope he proves me wrong and works hard to be a good player. It may of just been a case of debut nerves, and someone who has seen more of the reserves would be in a far better position than me to comment.
