Wilshere emerges as Real target

Arsenal's Jack Wilshere emerges as Real Madrid target - ESPN Soccernet

Arsenal and England star Jack Wilshere has been named as one of five transfer targets on a leaked Real Madrid document.

Wilshere, who pledged his future to the Gunners only last week and has a contract which runs until 2015, features alongside Lille's Eden Hazard, Borussia Dortmund's Mario Gotze, Barcelona's Rafinha Alcantara and Iker Muniain of Athletic Bilbao.

Spanish newspaper Marca published the shopping list of long-term potential signings under the headline 'Operation Madrid 2014', with Los Blancos clearly planning for the next batch of young stars to be brought in to complement the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The report claims Real's technical team would rather spend £30 million on the youngsters in the next two years than be quoted fees of more than £50 million when they are fully developed.

Marca is the unofficial mouthpiece for Real and the publication of the list has raised concerns that the Spanish club have taken the first step in a calculated approach to unsettle their transfer targets.

Arsenal fought a long battle with Barcelona over their public pursuit of Cesc Fabregas and eventually sold their skipper to the European champions in the summer for around £29 million. The Gunners could now be set to face a similar media campaign regarding Wilshere.

He's just a Darren Fletcher crossed with Park Ji Sung I tell ya.

Alright he is really not.

Marca are real's mouthpiece, there's no way that list was published (or 'leaked') without Real's say so. At first Real openly unsettled players, now they're doing it through other forms, so they can claim innocence.

Leaked, my backside more like.

Rafinha Alcantara? This list lost all credibility there if it wasn't enough that it was leaked by Marca.

And they'll get them all except Wilshire.

I know, but Barca aren't going to sell him with him being one of their brightest prospects and he's unlikely to want to leave with his family being so settled in Barcelona. If Real really wanted to stop spending so much money on the finished product they should look more to their own youth system.

Who or what could United use to help them tap players up.

I agree. Not that long ago, Real's youth system was producing some decent/good player.

What the hell? Do they seriously think they'll get a Barca youth prospect?

Wilshire a good player and can see why he's getting a lot of attention, same goes for the others too I guess. But the list really is just a muppet list, but Madrid (except one of them) can get all those guys on the list.

Juán Manuel Mata was at Madrid from a young age as was Samuel Eto'o but neither of them got a fair crack of the whip at Madrid. The youth system allows players to build an understanding between themselves that is very difficult to replicate with players being brought in at their peaks.

Hazard, Gotze and Muniain are all fairly similar so they will most likely go for one of them, although I am not even sure if they need any of them when they have Ozil, Di Maria and Ronaldo. They could also recall Canales and have someone nearly as good as those three without paying a lot of money.

I have no idea what sort of player Alcantara is but Wilshere they could do with but I'm pretty sure he won't leave Arsenal in a while.

 good spot....

the funnier thing is I will probably be told by someone in a pub later Wishere is off to madrid

As it has already been pointed out, Rafinha Alcantara really exists. He's apparently even more talented than his brother and plays the exact same position.

I think Alacantra's contract is expiring in the summer so that's why he has been linked with Chelsea, Arsenal and now madrid in the past week.
