Apology if there is already a Thread for this. But I could not find it from a search.
But I have been reading Leading by Sir Alex Ferguson. The book is not specifically about football. Rather it is an attempt by Sir Alex to identify the key leadership attributes that have brought about his incredible success in management.
And he starts off with the 2 most important skills.
Listening and looking. And he uses such a simple but crucial analogy:
There is a reason why God gave us 2 ears, 2 eyes but only 1 mouth.
So we should listen and look twice as much as we speak.
That is classic Sir Alex. Making the most important things in life sound so incredibly simple.
