Subsequently after that I admitted I was wrong about it as defensive performances improved (especially Gary Neville and to a certain extent Blanc) and pulled back my outburst.

If I was still asking for 4 defenders come the end of last season even after I admitted it was a mistake on my part, perhaps you would have a case.

Yes I do think Brown with suspect mental strength and with being a bit of a sicknote, it is doubtful if he can cut it in our first team.
O’Shea has been a pleasant surprise – he’s exceeded mine and I believe the majority of the fans’ expectations on his progress but can you honestly say he is 100% ready for regular first-team action? We still have to wait out an entire season or even two for this one but I have high hopes for him.

You didnt admit you made a "boo-boo" about the four defenders thing - you claimed they were knee-jerk reactions, which was contradictory to your early statements, ie declaring how youstudied the team before posting.

There's some confusion here about knee-jerk reactions, do you think it's based on one game, several games or more? Regarding my earlier comments, it was made based on our poor defensive performances for the first half of last season (up to the point when I first made that 4 defenders remark), yes I admit it was my mistake of not letting the central defenders in particular settle down and get used to each other's play and pre-judging them when the final leg of the season was not in play then. To me it was a premature call on my part (ie knee jerk) meaning I didn't allow the team more time to gel and should have judged them at the end of the season before I made a comment on them.

I learnt my lesson from there and will not make premature judgement calls on the team or certain players until I feel they have had sufficient time to prove themselves. Take forlan for example. I have some doubts about him but I still hope he's given at least half a season to prove himself.

Well, although I also thought that some of your agruments last season was too extreme, at least you have the gut to admit that you're wrong and I have seen that you have obviously changed your viewpoints in recent months. No one never make a mistake, but the most important thing is we know it is a mistake and is willing to correct it.

For the people who like to occasionally dig out lchk's old post to make fun by flaming him, will they also look at themselves honestly and will they also have the gut to admit it if they have also made any wrong statements or opinion in this forum before? I doubt it.

The reason i dug them all up is because Itchy was bragging to me about his "close season predictions" coming true.

I just thought id rub his nose in it and emphasis the fact that if you predict everything some of it will happen.

Itchy smugly told me to "wipe the egg off me face" because he was right about everything all along. He then proceeded to call me a liar for suggesting that he wanted so many new players signed in the close season.

Now me and Keano were not raised a million miles from each other and it seems that neither of us are comfortable with that tag.
So i dug up all his old quotes, it was easy, just look arounnd March for his "the defence,,,AGAIN" etc threads. The icing on the cake was however

Where he contradicted everything he was saying about "jerking knees".

The "close season prediction" thingy was in retaliation to your initial dig at me about wanting this and that player.

I do admit my mistakes, what I do not admit is things I did not do or comments I did not make.

Of course we all want our team to do well, it's just that I'm a little more critical about the team than some others - we get all sorts but I accept all views here since we are all Utd fans.
