Lazio Ripe For The Picking

According to planetfootball.com along with direct quotes from Valencia, lazio have missed a £7.6m installment for Gaizka Mendietta, whom they bought for £29m last summer. The money was due on July 1st and Valencia have issued a statement, highlighting the fact that they have commenced legal action.

Furthermore Real have re-launched their efforts to buy Alessandro Nesta for the fee of £25.5m. With lazio's financial status in greater crisis and Juve. & Inter capping thier Nesta bids @ £17m, Real are in a strong position to get their man. Nesta himself would prefer to stay in Italy, but should he have to go abroad, would prefer a move to the Bernabeu rather than Old Trafford.

If are we going to go for Nesta, its time to make a firm bid, Lazio are desperate to sell, so this is the time to try and get him. Real haven't officially stated their resurrected interest, but the story is believable, as he is a player they have been linked with for quite some time. Its time, should we want Nesta and can't Rio, to go all out to try and get our man.

Well, not sure if it's true, but a few articles on the net suggest that Nesta has refused a bid of us and firmly stated that he wanted to stay in Italy. If true, then we should give up on him. He doesn't want to come, no point in forcing a transfer.

But of course, these reports are probably BS.

Ripe? Bollocks.
Keep reading shite papers, and you'll surely go to Hell. <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" />

<img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Right. We'll take Nesta for 5m, oh and Castroman for 3m. :D

Lazio need to pay up, or else we should be able to take a couple of their players. ;)

you plan sound good to me !

i'll take NESTA for starters to cancel out the debt which he would do stupidly easily and then because they have been such cheekey bastards we should take any decent youth players they have.

:D

if lazio desperately needs money and United are paying them ... there is no way Nesta can say no ... he jus has to go!!!

What is he? A fecking slave?

Lazio is going down badly and and they are my favourite club in Italy. The Italian Chelseas i would call them.Spending too much dosh and are way to generous in wages. They will end up like Fiorentina in 1 or 2 seasons.feck Cragnotti.I hope they sell Nesta to us.We could get Claudio Lopez or Crespo too.

It highlites the fact that there should be some sort of payment gaurantee involved in large transfer fee's. Its ridiculous the amount of money they owe to various clubs

Rather that than be an over dramatic drama queen, oh no wonder I have just seen where you're from, can I ask what does it feel having a chairman who is having to mortgage everything down to his underwear, just to keep up with the polenta payments?

How do I feel? Fine, considering that thanks to Cragnotti ability, we climbed to the top, without spending wages like, for instance, Moratti did.
By the way, sorry to inform you, the whole football world is collapsing, due to the same problems in different countries: no more money from tv channels.

An my compliments to Jobt: in 2002 there still some jerk calling Lazio with a N in front. Wake up, you are still on time.

You're fraud's, its ridiculous that you should get away with not paying transfer fees.

There was the Mihajlovic incident where he called Viera a racial slur. There was the incident of Lazio fans attacking a Brazilian Roma player in a restaurant and beating him up infront of his family.

Fantastic, Raoul: I can easily ignore those two stupid morons (the world is full of dumb people, I know!) that wrote before you, but you are the manager here and surely will remember ALL the posts i wrote on the serious matter of racism in football, right? The ones that answered to Suedesi, remember? So how come you pop up with these stupid stuff again, after months? What's wrong with you, I thought you were a clever guy; this is very disappointing. I guess I lost my time on here, damn!

ps: check your shite papers better, next time, since the one and only RACIAL ASSAULT ever happened to a black player in Rome was the one occurred to Cafu and his two little kids, assaulted and insulted by as roma "civilized fans" after a loss against Atalanta two years ago.

ps2: I won't even write again on the Mihajlovic-Vieira story, you all make me sick, in 2002! My compliments!

ps3: AC Zago had a problem with a couple of unidentified people, was not beaten. (Crespo and Veron had the same problems, but you were busy, I guess...) The same is not to be said of what happened to an indian customer in an english pub, around Leeds, UK.

I dont want any player who doesnt really want to play for Utd....It'll take him one season to settle and our defence is leaky enough....

Lets go for Thuram and Ayala....who want to come and hope that Wes and O'Shea sort themselves out in a season or two. They are the future....

:)

Thuram? <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />
Ayala? Maybe ;)

We will only get united fans. You bet on it <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

Stop closing your eyes, Piersifal ...

It´ll be funny at Nazio with Manfredini and Liverani next season ...

Can't you read my english, Raoul? You want the real papers? I have the feeling you'll forget to ask me the Cafu ones...
And what about my questions to you? Forgotten all those mails with Suedesi?

(Jens, you wanna join the dumbwagon?)

I am sick and tired of all this: you all seem the perfect tabloid couch potatoes! This is where true racism sees life: branding 2 million fans and a glorious club as nazist, only by reading the hype on the media, based on ridicolous events for a city with 4 million people. Of course, the fact that all Europe is full of real racism doesn't touch you, poor clean souls, right? Wanna talk about hooligans, mates? No way, I am not so shallow as you are.
When was the last time you did a research on what papers feed you with? You make me sick!
There's an ON/OFF device on the back of your head, why is it always OFF? Can't you reach it?
Ok, go back and read The Sun now!

All a bit daft really innit?

There are racist factions at every club. Whenever 30-50,000 predominantly male fans get together at a passion filled event, all kinds of bigotry, prejudice and narrow-mindedness are on display.

Tarring a whole club and its fans with the same brush as an element of bigots is silly imo.

Are all United fans twats just coz Bazalini is?

Calm down please. I only brought those two incidents to light because they are the ones that were publicized. In the Mihajlovic incident, he admitted calling Viera a 'black shit', and was suspeneded by UEFA for it. Lazio were also fined by UEFA because players had objects thrown at them.

And then there's the below...

Lazio fans clash over 'Shalom Cup'
ROME, Italy (August 31, 2001)

Jewish supporters of Serie A club Lazio have hit out at hardcore 'ultras' who plan a boycott of an anti-racist event organized by the Rome club. Lazio has organized the 'Shalom Cup' to be played on Monday featuring Israeli team Maccabi Haifa and Ivory Coast team Asec Mimosas.

The event is an effort by Lazio to shed its image as a club with racist supporters. But the reaction of some of its supporters has prompted anger from Jewish fans. Lazio's hardcore "ultras", traditionally linked with far-right groups, called for a boycott of the match, citing the middle east political situation. "We don't feel like joking when Palestinian children are dying and we don't want to celebrate a peace that isn't there," said the ultras statement.

The Jewish supporters, whom Lazio president Sergio Cragnotti has met several times in his fight against racism amongst the club's fans, responded to the boycott call with their own statement, published in newspapers on Friday. "Despite the efforts of a great president, with sad hearts we must admit that Lazio fans are racist and anti-semitic," said the statement.

</strong><hr></blockquote>That's about as stupider statement by a professional organisation that I've ever heard.

Does the statement maker know each and every individual that lives in Rome who supports Lazio? Kinell, what a pathetic thing to say.

I've known a few eyeties in my time, a few who have been Lazio fans, we've worked and socialised in all kinds of different environments and to my knowledge, they were not racist or anti-semitic.

Amazing comment to make, absolutely amazing.

I won't say there isn't an anti-Jewish element in the Lazio fan base, but I'd have a hard time coming to the conclusion they were rampant anti-Semites based on the statement issued by the Ultras. I consider the number of people (on this site)who have taken the US to task for supporting the Israeli "right to self determination" at the apparent expense of Palestinian counter-interests but don't consider all of them to be racist, anti-Semetic, Jew-hating theological bigots. Contrary to the "with us or against us" mentality so many people possess, one can actually be neutral on an issue and merely not wish to appear to favor either side.

Now--if they invited Zamalek to play Maccabi Haifa, I'd be more impressed.

Calm down? "Calm down" and you feed us with the same shite again? Were you there at the stadium that night? I was there, as many as 9 thousands people were there, some with huge banners that read sentences against racism, the papers showed it, even on the Internet, but of course it's so much easier to keep branding millions of fans with an easy to write word, so cool right? NAZIO, right? How cool you all are, you made a play on words! Brilliant!
And who gives a feck if Irriducibili said they wouldn't come to the game in support of palestinian issues, they were free to do whatever they wanted, but nobody was forced NOT to go.
Plus, as roma fans were 4 thousands, the year before. How come you didn't mention that?
And I am not even commenting those words by that jewish guy: it's self-translating: politics hits everybody. This is not the way to fight real racism, for Christ's sake!
Plus, Mihajlovic was insulted by Vieira as well, he was called a "fecking gipsy", but of course being a gipsy is not as politically correct as being a black, right?
So, how long will it take to you before you stop writing all this shite, only because media hyped it?
You didn't believe the words of Lazio fans who were there, it's easier for you to believe The Sun. Go ahead, be my guest! What a waste of time, writing on this forum, is this what you want me to write?

Haven't you heard? I'm a racist and black, according to some.

Who do you think you are talking with, some teenager with more spots than neurons, lad? I asked you VARIOUS TIMES if you remembered all the topics we discussed racism in, months ago, and you NEVER answered, but you only posted some other shite "articles"! So is this the way you do it?
You haven't got the guts to write what you really think, you just dodge and escape from it? Or you just throw garbage on a team just to improve the "temperature" of the forum you are supposed to manage?
Well, if you can't write any original ideas, if you keep avoiding a confrontation, why don't you just STOP writing bullshit and throwing shite on my team and to the 99% of non-racist, well bred and sportmanslike Lazio fans?
If this is the policy held on this forum by the manager, I guess I'll be leaving soon from here, with no regrets...

Piersifal,

do you think the Serie A is skint?

You're not going about to get violent are you ? ;)

Just relax. This is a United forum, and you're not a United fan, hence you shouldn't be shocked that your club aren't always spoken about in the most favourable of lights. They do of course have a reputation as having racist supporters (as do other clubs), and we're merely discussing that particular topic. If you happen to disagree with the article that was discussed earlier, then that's fine, but there's no need to pull your hair out about it. Different points of view are encouraged here. ;)
