Still class after all these years.... they're showing an all day marathon on TCM today in the US and A. Some of them are over 75yrs old and it still makes me chortle.

Always been a fan of Laurel & Hardy, they were brilliant at everything they did. One of my favourite episodes is where Stan doesn't tell his wife he is going out but she overhears him, then swaps the alcohol for cold tea but he doesn't know:lol:

He takes it out and they drink it all then just laugh at his wife when she comes with the shotgun:lol:

They were great.

I like 'Brats' where they play their own kids.... classic stuff

Moving that piano into the apartment was classic. Love hearing the fat one yell (I get the names mixed).

I also like a bit of WC Fields. Funny gin soaked blowhard. Good stuff.

No thanks, Carlos Mencia and Dave Chappelle are the bestest comedians, like, in ever.

I recently purchased the full Laurel and Hardy collection in Tesco for £35 complete bargain for that price really, I definitely recommend it.

As mentioned earlier the one where they take the Piano up the stairs is absolute genius. They were nothing short of genius, the greatest comedy duo of all time. Remember, they didn't need to swear to make people laugh, or any use of the sexual joke or infact toilet humour.

They were and are simply brilliant.

That's exactly what my dad says!

Yes, they are brilliant, and for £40 you can't go far wrong. I've just stuck a Chump at Oxford on :D

I'd say Groucho, Chico and Harpo would hold their own against Laurel and Hardy. Well, against Hardy, and Stan Laurel would just sort of maybe mop Hardy's forehead.

It's true though! How many comedians just go for the say feck and hope approach!

They are indeed, best 40quid you'll spend. Great episode that, especially what happens to Stan at the end haha.

Groucho would hold his own against anybody with his wit and vocab, Groucho was the one line master. The Marx brothers are brilliant, but when it comes to the Kings there was only ever two :)

"This is Oxford, you're dressed for Eton!"

"Oh, that's fine, we haven't eaten all day."

:D

Never was into Laurel and Hardy that much, but I sure loved The Three Stooges

One of the highlights of my life, seriously, was running up and down the very same steps that Stan and Ollie climbed in "The Music Box", my favourite comedy duo of all time

stan laurel went to my grammar school when his father was in charge of the local theatre.
naturally every desk in the school was inscribed with " stan laurel sat here "

but yes, comedy genius, who along with the great morecambe & wise, are still hysterically funny.

Love 'em. Love the Marx Brothers. Love The 3 Stooges. Love Abbott & Costello.

As Weaste said, they used to be on all the time when I was younger, but they haven't been on in ages.

Sort it out, BBC!

Rich socialite being wooed by Groucho: "It's my husband! Quick, duck behind the sofa!"

Groucho runs behind the sofa, a second later his head pops up:

"There's no duck behind this sofa!"

skip to 2:40 when they fall into the roller skates.

The chase for Marx Brothers "The Big Store". Real highbrow stuff with all the essentials - roller skates, guns, bungis, fixie bikes, pole vaulting, unicycles.

Cracks me up every time.
