Laughing stock of the Premier League

The oppo banter out there is brutal.
We’ve been the banter club for a decade because of the sheer size of the club and success we enjoyed for over 2 decades previously. With that said, our banter era would be the golden era for clubs like Newcastle and Spurs. 2 FA Cups, Europa Cup and 2 league cups. Not a bad return for a club currently in the gutter.

We’d be also having a laugh if it wasn’t us

While our status is down the gutter right now, the irony in that meme is that half of those clubs would kill to have won what ETH has since being appointed.

The likes of Brighton and Brentford haven't won a single trophy in their 100+ years of existence.

They’ll be saying we were wrong to sack him and it wasn’t his fault when we do get rid

Just wait one season and many here will be claiming football wasn't bad and it was our most successful period since Sir Alex. I see people defending Ole so I'm pretty confident it will be the same with ten Hag.

“Oppo banter out there is brutal” if you go on Twitter looking for it.

Or you could just… not? Maybe? Go outside? Do anything else?
Exactly. Online banter is completely avoidable, not sure why people go out of their way to look for it.

What laughing stock? Last weekend's laughing stock was Spurs. Mate played a bottom half team the previous GW and won and thought they were the big dogs and got schooled by a top 6 team.

These clubs have historically been minor compared to us, have a fraction of our resources so I can see how it’s funny for them to see us be so close to their level and probably worse on the pitch on a regular basis. They couldn’t have dreamed of outplaying us before.

But most importantly, even despite hiccups like last season for Brentford, it must have been just much more fun and excitement being Brighton or Brentford fan, see your club punch above its weight and outplay much greater and richer clubs. It just isn’t fun being United fan these days, and even beautiful moments like triumphing over city in FA final don’t change that

I'm pretty sure trophy wise we've still been more successful than about 2 thirds of the league over the last 10 years.
They’ll be saying we were wrong to sack him and it wasn’t his fault when we do get rid
Exactly. It is funny how opposition fans will argue against whatever United do. In hindsight, I was way too nice when United were successful. If we ever win the league again, I'll be the biggest prick in history.

It doesn't bother me, to be honest. Just a reflection of where we are at as football club on and off the pitch.

Even during SAF's reign oppo fans would make a huge song and dance out of every game we didn't win, and moan bitterly about perceived injustices. Nothing new.
