Leeds chairman Peter Grimsdale has quoted that there will be no new deal offered to Rio Ferdinand in an attempt to keep him at Leeds. Now this could be an attempt to soften any blow dealt by RF if he was to leave the club, if you like, play the greedy player angle to the fans. It is well known that Leeds have to balance the books on transfer deals and show a profit of £15 m, the sale of Bowyer could raise £10 m, and then he would need to be replaced, plus they need to add to the squad. IMO the Rio saga could drag on, and there is a strong possibility that he could be sold, opinions anyone ?.
 
don't believe anything that bugger says...just yesterday, he was saying no one had contacted him about bowyer, and today he admitted liverpool had been talking to them.

I think you will find what he actually said was.....

"If Phil Thompson says Liverpool are talking to Lee that is news to me.

I have not accepted any bid from any football club for any player.

Lee is on the transfer list and so there will always be speculation where his future will lie."

I think it's getting ever less likely Rio's coming. Which is a right bunch of arse considering the amount of time I've been saying the opposite.

However, I can't imagine he's happy Ridsdale is blabbing to the press about private stuff like his pay!

Leeds has the look of a right mickey mouse organisation, and now they're hired the dodgiest geezer of all to run it. Hope Rio knows what he's doing.
 
I still expect one final twist, and that is Ferdinand saying I'M STAYING or I'M GOING. We seen his Sun interview, we know what Ridsdale claimed Ferdinand's agent told him, but the two most important words weren't there. The player has so far refused to shut the door on the possibility of himself going elsewhere.
