I am creating this thread in the name of franco, he today reminded me of this album and so I have downloaded earlier and have listened twice so far.

It's fecking brilliant.

If you aren't aware who these are it's Arctic Monkeys lead singer Alex Turner and lead singer of newly formed The Rascals, Miles Kane with James Ford producing and playing drums.

I am so far loving it, it's almost like listening to a soundtrack to a Bond film, that's the kind of vibe it gives.

Just listen, it's definitely a 4/5 star album.

I've only started to get into Arctic Monkeys recently, now i got all their tracks front-line on my ipod.

Might take a look at this.

Do it, this is a fine album, with such a different vibe than most of the shit you hear these days.

I'm starting to think Alex Turner is quite the special talent indeed.

Definately will do. Been hooked on Arctic Monkeys these last few weeks. Especially their cover for "Diamonds are Forever" at Glastonbury 2007.

Much better Kanye West's shitty cover.

Right I've never heard any of their stuff, which song would you recommend I listen too first?

This is their only available single so far, it's the opener to the album.

I would recommend listening to the whole album as a whole though.

Without wishing to sound pedantic they are actually called the last shadow puppets! Yeah the album is quailty though. The first couple of times I listened I didn't like it at all. I thought it sounded like a bunch of dodgy coral b-sides but the more I listened the more I grew to like it. I love all that kind of over the top orchestral stuff though. Give me a bit of the Walker Brothers anyday!

You're right, fecks sake

Loving it the more I listen to this, superb album.

Absolutely top album from a top talent. Gets better every time I hear it
