larry and the Travellers yard

Defenders are a bit thin on the ground at the moment, so sending him to the glue factory wouldn't help us

I didn't see the game but it sounds to me like the defence are not the ones to be looking at. We only conceeded 1 goal, but look how many goals we scored last season ! Bleedin tonnes ! I just can't understand why we are not getting though defences. For example, the sitter Giggs missed - if he had scored that who knows what the score might have been, but United are just not doing it up front ! Blanc is old and slow but I'm not sure the problem lies with him alone.

Agreed, the defence has feck all to do with, not scoring at home to Bolton is shocking and the midfield and attack are the ones who should be scratching their heads.

From what I saw on the higlights Blanc looked like he had a mare (again). He reads the game's well but I'd rather see OShea as the game is getting faster and he is getting slower. I'd like to see him in more of a coaching role and standing in when there are injuries or suspensions. He is too old though.

I european matches he's fine.
But in PL matches at home, when we have to come forward and apply a lot of pressure his lack of pace worries me. We're always vulnerable on the counter attack.

I was shocked at the way he turned away for the goal. He turned his body to AVOID the ball, and he deflected off him (slightly) making the save harder for Barthez.

I think he's for the pasture now. Blood young O'Shea and see if he can do it.
Fergie used to always take these hard decisions (Leighton/Sealy '90), but always very late in the day (months after it was obvious to everyone else).

Nah, he's still worth having. He's is a bit Travellers in matches, but he must do Roche, Tierney etc the world of good in training. He's calm under pressure, and has a lot to pass on.
