Apr 21, 2009 #2 Scholesgoals Full Member Joined Jul 4, 2008 Messages 7,899 Location Ogmalocopia Once you have connected the VGA cable to the TV you now have to set up the laptop to access the external display Using the “FN” key (Function) and the “CRT/LCD” key look at the top of keyboard “F” keys Hold down the FN key and press the CRT/LCD key once Display will change as follows Press once laptop display only Press again external display only Press again both laptop and external display You must hold down the FN key each time you press the CRT/LCD key Using the TV remote control input button you will need to change the input connection on the TV from the normal TV to the PC input Most present day TV provides Plug and Play capability, meaning that the TV’s adjusts automatically to the PC settings.

If you have a digital tv then you just need an HDMI cable, given your laptop has an HDMI output. If you don't have a digital tv, then I think you can get a S-Video to Scart cable somewhere, though the quality is poor.
