Come on then, what are your views of the season so far?

For me, after a great start, our batting's really been found out. The Friends Provident Semi was a particular low point.

I reckon we're in for another long and miserable season... :(

It's been a lot better that I expected with all the changes.

We're in the semis of the 20/20 and in with a chance of winning the championship. You're right our batting has been big issue particularly in the longer version of the game. We currently have the lowest batting points in the league.

Tom Smith bowled an excellent final over last night.

Nurse! Nurse! My sides have just split! :D

Looks like Durham are going to walk the County Championship. Will it ever happen for Lancs?

Were doing well in the Pro 40. It would be great to get into the win the Twenty20 Cup.

To be fair, we've come close on a number of occasions, only for the Manchester rain to put the dampeners on...

We have come very close on a few occasions. With a lot better teams than this one. I think we'll finish mid-table at best.

And I don't mind losing the title to the weather, it's the arctic monkeys that annoyed me.

That was a great gig Ralphie :D

Didn't know you were a cricket fan, ralphie.

Is anybody else going tonight to the twenty20? I'll be there, and I reckon we've got a good chance of winning the tournament this year.

And can I just say that Tom Smith used to play at my club :D

Just announced on Sky the T20 QF against Somerset is going to a "bowl-out" or whatever it's called.

Often used to go to the limited games on Sunday when coming over staying at my grand parents in the summer n Manchester. They days of Wasim Akram, Watkinson, Fowler, DeFraites, Fairbrother etc. Been to Southport a few times too. Can't really follow them nowadays.

Can't believe we're not going to win against Yorkshire, lucky sheep shagging bastards

Teams tend to give slow bowlers the ball during the bowl out. Easier to hit the stumps for them.

Seems strange, why can't a quick bowler just bowl more slowly and concentrate on just hitting the stumps, rather than going for "occasional" bowlers?

I think quick bowlers will struggle to bowl that much more slower?

It happened in the T20 world cup 2 years back in the India vs Pakistan match. Our batsmen who were given the ball in the bowl-out hit the stumps with their off-breaks. Pakistan had a fast bowler(I don't remember who it was) who tried to bowl a bit slower and missed it.

Makes sense I suppose. Since the bowl out I read somewhere that the players selected were the ones who hit the stumps the most in practice.

Lancs playing now on Sky Sports 1 vs Northants.

Northants got 102-7 of 21 overs (reduced due to rain). Lancs need 100 to win (Duckworth/Lewis involved here it seems)

Promising response to Hampshire's first innings total. If we post a big total tomorrow we might actually squeeze a win out of this one.

150 ahead with only 4 wickets down. Shame there's only a day to go but a good slog till lunch and you never know...

On another note, what's happened to Loye this season? 61 off 179?!?

I wandered down to OT today to watch the final session. Excellent stuff by Keedy. Weather's looking good for the next couple of days so I think I might take my work down there tomorrow and see how Mr Loye gets on.

Did you go again Ralphie?

Things ain't looking too good for lancashire this year, we still have the pro40 though

Yeah I've been popping in for the last session each day. Although with Lancashire 3 wickets down already they may not get that far this time. :(

55/3

Lancashire require 271 more runs to win with 7 second innings wickets left

82/4 its picking up again

Lancashire require 244 more runs to win with 6 second innings wickets left

It'll be hard, but could be possible

107/4

Lancashire require 219 more runs to win with 6 second innings wickets left

I can't see it happening, but theres always hope!

121/4

Lancashire require 205 more runs to win with 6 second innings wickets left

Could get a draw
