Might actually win the County Championship this year. Just got their second win in a week. Taken 42 points out of a possible 44.
With Sussex and Yorkshire both losing, it has put them top of the table.
Sajid Mahmood has come back into form, and Laxman scored a crucial century. Been over half-a-century since they last did it.

Would be kind of ironic if Lancashire won the title this year. I've heard people say many times that Lancs are hampered by the weather in the NW. Because of the rain - the theory goes - they tend to lose more days of play than any other county side resulting in a high number of draws.

Although this presupposes the fact that Lancs were in winning positions when the rain came, it would be interesting to see the stats if this is true.

Maybe the wettest summer on record - affecting the whole of the UK - has actually created a level playing field (and a few submerged ones;)).
