After the Hampshire match thread died on it's arse, I get the feeling it's not worth starting a new thread for every match.

Here's a good forum to follow the club, the match threads are especially useful: http://www.spiderswebsites.com/forum/default.asp?CAT_ID=23

Anyway Lancs has a 240 run second innings lead over Durham with Law closing in on a century.

Will be good to get an away result early with all the points that are inevitably going to be dropped at home due to rain.

Lancs scored 248 batting first in the C&G Trophy against Worcester. Started bowling well, have Worcester at 39-2.

I must admit I have no interest in County Cricket.

It's shit.

100-8

Lancashire are well on their way to wrapping up this game.

Worcs 129 all out

Lancashire win by 119 runs

Excellent

So when the pyjama shit starts, you lot finally contribute to the thread. ;)

Nuts to Lancs.

Hampshire all the way.

You are mental.

1st saying you'd rather the mancs won than Chelsea and now this...

I'm from the South.

And i've never followed county stuff much, I spend plenty of time just up the road from the Rosebowl so i've as much ties to them as anyone else on the County scene.

Probably...

Lancs are 227/3 in response to Kent's 327 in the first innings.

Keedy picked up 71/4 and Saj Mahmood chimed in with 3 of his own, although he cherry picked 2 tail enders which made his figures look considerably better.

Chilton is on 83. There's not much left after this lot though.

3/293 at the close of play with Chilton on 118. Well played skipper.

Lancashire now top the league...

Beat Kent in three days by 6 wickets.

Keedy should play for England.

Apparently Mahmood's spell was excellent.

And Keedy's fine where he is, the club produces enough players for England, they don't need any more. ;)

Flintoff back for Lanc's today, I wish he'd play more for Lanc's than he does. Hasn't bowled yet, but was involved in the first wicket to fall. This is possibly the strongest Lanc's side I've seen.

Flintoff agrees to new Lancs deal
Andrew Flintoff
Flintoff has had an unforgettable year
England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff has committed his future to Lancashire after agreeing to a new five-year contract with the club.

"Lancashire is my county and I have never thought of playing anywhere else," said the 28-year-old, who made his debut in 1995.

Lancashire chief executive Jim Cumbes added: "He still is passionate about playing for the county club.

"Obviously we all hope he extends his England career as long as possible."

It has been an eventful and successful year for Flintoff, who will captain England in the first Test against Sri Lanka at Lord's this week.

He took 24 wickets and scored more than 400 runs in the 2-1 Ashes success last summer and won another Man of the Series prize for his displays as skipper of a makeshift England side in the recent 1-1 draw with India.

His efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Flintoff has picked up the BBC Sports Personality of the Year prize, was named Wisden's most valuable cricketer on the planet and shared the International Cricket Council's world player-of-the-year title with South African Jacques Kallis.

And on Monday he was named Englanbd Cricketer of the Year by team sponsors, Vodafone.

"This is a great honour," he commented.

"It's been a fantastic year for English cricket and I'm very proud to have been able to play a part in regaining the Ashes.

"The support I've received from the British public has been very humbling and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their words of encouragement.

"I'm now looking forward to building on this success during what promises to be a very exciting summer for English cricket as we head towards another Ashes series and a World Cup campaign this winter."

England team-mate Geraint Jones added: "He's had a few special weeks.

"To captain your country at Lord's, with all its tradition, will make him realise what England captaincy is all about.

"This is something he has always wanted to do and hopefully this is the start of a great 12 months for him."

i'll be trying to see lancs when they come to middx & surrey.i like cricket but prefer the test match version

Like everyone else with a clue.
I disagree with that, a few people with a clue prefer the shorter game as they have a short attention span, saying that i prefer tests.

Nonsense. Not a single fecking person with a clue prefers one day cricket.

do lancashire have flintoff, anderson, and mahmood???

if so, a might pace attack there, although they hardly play for lancs

Indeed all three are proud Lancastrian's and should we be able to field a full strength team at any point this year we've got the potential to possibly be one of the best teams in the world.

Add to those three the new talent of Tom Smith, and Lanc's seem to be doing well at the lower level producing talent. Now if only we could convert that to silverware....

I sure we would have won more silverware if wasn't for infamous Manchester weather - we have drawn a lot of games when in winning positions over the years due to rain.

Mike Watkinson deserves a lot of credit for turning Lancs around...I still reckon another spinner would complete the jigsaw.

Murali would do nicely.

We should have won the league in a canter 3 years ago but for all the rain.

Yet somehow we got relegated the year after.

Roses Match

Lancs are 7/391, Loye made 138 with Law chipping in with a timely 101.

Hehe.

I hope we don't lose anytime to the weather.

Sounds like its on the way any time now.

But you're probably better placed to judge than me. ;)
