There have been stories over the last couple of years that Lady Gaga is not original. People have compared many of her videos to Madonna's. Singer Grace Jones has outright said Gaga copied her style.
Now the story of Lina Morgana has come to light, thanks to her mother.
Yana Morgana claims her daughter started working with Lady Gaga, then known as Stefani Germanotta after being introduced by producer, Rob Fusari.
In a New York Post story, Yani says the dark, edgy style you see in Lagy Gaga is in fact her deceased daughters.
"I'm doing this because I want to keep her spirit alive," Yana, 41, told The Post. "Lady Gaga is holding Lina's soul, and I want her soul to be free. "Every other word she says is from Lina. She talks about having a dark and tragic life, but she had everything she wanted in the world. She went to [the same] high school as Nicky Hilton, her parents were rich. But Lina did have a tough life, and she often talked about her tragic life."
The pair were introduced in 2007, in the hope that Stefanie could help Lina co-write her first album. And they did indeed write several songs together. A couple such as "Wunderland" can be found on youtube. Lina's mother wants Gaga to hand over the rights to the rest of the recordings.
Yana also contends that during that time Gaga, who was more of a "plain Jane" studied Lina's fashion style, stage presence flare for the dramatic.
"Lina had that style. Gaga had a different style. She changed dramatically overnight," Yana said
ina committed suicide in October 2008, by leaping from a Staten Island hotel roof at the age of 19.
About a month after Lina's death, Stefani Germanotta became Lady Gaga.
Lina's ex boyfriend, Tyler Schwab says the similarities are eerie. "It was the same style, the same look, the same music, the same voice, the same jaw line -- the way they expressed themselves. And I was like, 'Is that Lina?' It was so, so shocking. It was like looking at a ghost."
The Post also reports that when the story of the Lina comparison's popped up on Lady Gaga's official message board Thursday (September 9), it was shut down.
Hmmm....strange coincidences here
