Newspaper reports indicate that Manchester United are lining up a January swoop for Kyriakos Papadopoulos, the young Olypmiakos defender...

According to The Sun, Sir Alex Ferguson is willing to part with £3million to add Papadopoulos to his back-line options at Old Trafford.

The 16-year-old centre-back became the youngest player ever in the Greek first division when he made his debut against Atromitos last December, and he has attracted interest from a number of English clubs.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest have all been keeping tabs on Papadopoulos, who has also attracted the attention of Greece coach Otto Rehhagel.

Espanyol came close to signing the youngster after he impressed during a series of trials in 2007, but Olympiakos eventually won the race for his signature.

It is understood that United have already opened discussions with the giants of Piraeus.

Seems like a very exciting talent, but I'm not convinced that the rumor is true.
